Andrew Jervis – ClickMechanic

When he was still in university, Andrew Jervis successfully launched two ventures – a merchandise clothing company that supplied 30 universities and sold over 30,000 units and an auto parts eCommerce business that sold in 2012.

While running the auto parts business, Andrew found there was a problem with many customers not trusting their mechanics. After further investigation and a chat with his brother (who’s a mechanic), he realised there was just no easy way to book a trusted mechanic. He then decided to study research masters at Manchester Uni where he devoted himself to understanding these problems better. After writing an 85,000-word thesis on the subject he moved to London to join accelerator EF where he met Felix Kenton who had identified the same problems. The pair decided to then team up and develop ClickMechanic with the goal of building the most transparent way for car owners to book trusted mechanics.

ClickMechanic is an industry first. No one had ventured into this business model and no major marketplace digitalisation had occurred in the last 50 years. That is until Andrew Jervis decided to research the car repair industry as his subject of thesis whilst at Manchester University.
