Applications Open For UK-Israel Female Founder Event

The British Embassy Israel, in partnership with Yazamiyot and Shoosmiths LLP, are excited to invite you to apply to their virtual UK-Israel Female Founder Office Hours. This is the 3rd event in the Embassy’s UK-Israel Women Leading Innovation initiative and is focused on easing the barrier of raising capital for female founders by facilitating 1:1 virtual meetings between a select group of UK and Israel female founders and leading investors.

How Does It Work?

Founders will have a chance to meet with at least three investors during the event. Each meeting will last approx. 10 mins and provide a unique opportunity for female founders to engage with investors in an open 1:1 conversation, gaining valuable insights and advice. This is not a pitch session, instead, investors will receive all decks prior to the event and founders are encouraged to come with a set of strategic questions for the investors they will meet.

Participating VCs include: Octopus Ventures, Hearst Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures (Europe and Israel), Playfair Capital, Glilot Capital, Notion Capital, and NfX Capital.

The UK-Israel Women Leading Innovation Network is a British Embassy’s initiative aimed at promoting women in the tech industry in both the UK and Israel. Through specially curated online networking events, mentorship programmes and peer-to-peer matchmaking, we have created a platform for an ongoing collaboration between leading innovation professionals, tech entrepreneurs, R&D specialists and venture capitalists in both countries. In just a few months, we have established our network to include hundreds of founders of leading startups, VCs, corporates, innovation hubs, academia and government.

In recent months, we have identified the need and opportunity to focus on easing barriers and increasing access, by curating and delivering a series of online panel discussions with leading figures in the public and private sectors on current opportunities for female founders in the UK and Israel.  We are therefore planning Virtual Female Founders Office Hours to support female founders across the UK and Israel and help them gain insight and access from top VCs.
