Monzo’s Director of Product Joins Social Impact Start-up Beam

Social enterprise Beam, the world’s first crowdfunding platform for homeless people, has hired Monzo’s Director of Product, Flora Devlin.

A senior employee from Monzo, Devlin also acted as interim Chief Product Officer in the summer of 2020. She joins Beam as its first Head of Product on 22nd February. Devlin will work closely with the startup’s Head of Engineering, Julian Keenaghan, and report into founder and CEO Alex Stephany.

Before Beam, Devlin led product teams at Monzo for two years, where she was responsible for developing the product management discipline and shipping product to Monzo’s 4m+ customers. Prior to that, she worked in the data and product teams at leading tech companies Intercom and Hootsuite.

Devlin has joined Beam for an initial period of six months and will lead on product design and execution at the startup, in addition to advising on longer-term product strategy for Beam’s multiple stakeholders.

Beam’s award-winning business model brings together local authorities, homeless charities, training providers, employers, members of the public and Beam’s dedicated team of caseworkers to help tackle homelessness.
