Notable Mentions

The TechRound team has been very impressed with the calibre and innovation of insurance companies in the UK – with a theme on making policies more accurate, claims quicker to turnaround and finding innovation in a very traditional industry.

Startups are using clever ways to make insurance policies more measurable and effective, basing policies on your usage (Superscript, Cuvva) and not just a one-size-fits-all policy for everyone.

We were impressed on how insurance providers are not just offering a service, such as life or pet insurance, but giving you additional benefits and rewards (Waggel and YuLife).

A large part of the industry is what happens behind the scenes, including all the tech, data and analytics, with notable growth and innovation by various firms (Optalitix, Charles Taylor , Cytora and Insure Apps)

Feedback From The Judges

Our judges were very impressed with the quality of entries – and many confirmed to our proposed layout which is always very helpful when it comes to the judging.

Some of our judges viewed the competition and finalists based on market size, considering that some startups have real national and global potential, especially if they crossover into other things like wellbeing, rewards or tech. In addition, some of the judges highlighted some of the companies that they are customers for and they enjoy using their products, which is always nice to see.
