I had three other businesses before starting Chanty. They’re all involved in web development and design. During that time, I tried a bunch of different messaging apps, and every time I opened a team chat, I couldn’t help but think that it’s far too difficult. There were no audio or video calls available; even if they were, they had too many restrictions.
I eventually realised that I needed a more effective way to interact with everyone who works with me, so I experimented with various tools, including Slack. None of them met my needs, and I decided to create my own chat app. It started off as an internal initiative, but then we realised we might profit from it, so we launched a beta and quickly attracted many clients.
