When Karima joined happn as the company’s Executive in 2017, she had the belief that working in a dating company would be more than just a job. As Executive, the oversaw the day-to-day administrative, corporate, legal and operational functions of the company, supporting their strategy and development. In 2021, she became the CEO.

happn is one of the most downloaded dating apps in the world. Founded in France in 2014, happn claims to have a vision of love that is as authentic as in real life: technology gives a helping hand to destiny by allowing singles who have crossed paths to find each other on the app.

 

 

Happn is a location-based social search mobile and web application that allows users to like or dislike other users that they have crossed paths with in real life. Users are able to chat if they have matched.

The app has over 126 million registered users worldwide. It is mainly used in Western Europe and South America (Argentina and Brazil) but also in Turkey and India.

When Karima became happn’s CEO, she had the ambition of making the dating experience even more real and authentic. Her goal was to guarantee a safe and happy place for people to create new connections.

Karima is also proud to be part of the Council of the Women in Dating organizstion. Women in Dating is for women, including trans women and people of marginalised genders, wishing to access a women-centred community. Their mission is to work together to provide thought leadership and guidance to people in the industry, create a space where people can learn and inspire one another, and guide and shape the direction of the industry.

In addition to these commitments, Karima is also the President of the French association called “ADIJ”, an association of experts committed to promoting and influencing laws and regulations in the Tech industry and Digital World.
