1. Tell us about DueTrade
DueTrade is a B2B SaaS business that builds trade ordering apps. We connect suppliers and buyers of traditional industries through a modern, easy-to-use mobile app.
We focus on industries such as builders merchants, breweries, wholesalers, food service companies, grain merchants, millers and more.
Typically orders are placed over the phone and email which takes a lot of time for both the supplier and the buyer and is not the modern buying experience buyers expect these days.
Think about how you order as a consumer through Amazon in a few clicks, it’s like that but for businesses.
2. How did you come up with the idea for the company?
The company was formed 4 years ago after I worked in the software industry in London. It was obvious that everything was going mobile, the average mobile screen time in the UK is 4 hours per day which is the equivalent of 60 days per year. You can get a date on an app, order a taxi, check-in online, order food etc. so why would you not want to put your business in your customer’s pockets?
The first product was for a Norfolk-based grain merchant who wanted a modern way to connect with customers. They wanted to offer their farmers all of the information in the form of market reports and prices and the ability to decide from their own branded app. Enter DueTrade. Once we realised one business would go for it, we knew there was a market.

3. How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
DueTrade has gone from strength to strength. We have grown from a sole founder to a team of 6 people who predominantly work remotely, we have built bespoke products and recently released our main off-the-shelf ordering app which allows businesses to offer an ordering app for a fraction of the bespoke cost. We £130,000 investment in 2022 in order to build this product and other than that we have grown organically.
In a touch economic system we have grown by 54% from last year.
4. What can we hope to see from DueTrade in the future?
You can expect to grow by 110% by April next year and bring on new customers who are looking to modernise their go-to-market strategy through the form of an ordering app.
We want to continue our 0% churn rate and keep offering the best customer service.
We are finalists in the 2024 UK StartUps awards for Mobile Technolgy StartUp of the Year which has thousands of entries each year and we are 1/6 to be selected.
In the next year we would like a fixed office space and to hire more staff in sales and customer success roles.
