About Open VPN
OpenVPN is a leading global private networking and cybersecurity company that allows organizations to truly safeguard their assets in a dynamic, cost effective, and scalable way.
Francis Dinha, the CEO and co-founder of OpenVPN, was born and raised in Iraq under the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein, where criticising the government or dictator was illegal and could result in severe consequences such as imprisonment or public execution.
In his early 20s, Dinha fled Iraq alone and sought asylum in Sweden, where he continued his education in applied physics, electrical engineering, and computer engineering at Linköping University. After gaining proficiency in the Swedish language, he seized an opportunity in his early 30s to work as a programmer for a technology company in Dallas, Texas.
He relocated to the United States with his family, learned his fourth language, and established himself as an authority in the technology field by founding OpenVPN.
