Tell us about Nomical
Nomical was founded with the belief that IT shouldn’t just be about fixing problems – it should be about preventing them in the first place. We began as a small, family-run business, and while we’ve grown, our core belief remains the same: relationships matter more than transactions.
Over the years, we’ve become a trusted IT partner for some of the biggest names in the UK, helping multi-site businesses scale and streamline their operations. At the heart of what we do is a commitment to innovation, doing right by our clients, and making the complex simple. Whether it’s a start-up or a large operator, our approach is the same: build meaningful relationships, listen carefully to our clients’ unique needs, and provide human-centric IT solutions that evolve as they do.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
The idea for Nomical came from seeing a gap in the market – particularly for SMEs who often struggled with complex IT challenges, and larger providers didn’t offer the personalised support they needed. My brother and I wanted to be a different kind of IT partner – one that prioritises relationships over transactions and delivers more than just technical fixes.
We knew we could offer something different – a partnership where clients could rely on us not only for support but also to help them grow. What makes us unique is how we combine the personal touch of a family-run business with the capability of an enterprise-level IT partner. We genuinely care about our clients’ success, and I think that’s reflected in the long-term relationships we’ve built.
For instance, both PureGym and The Gym Group trusted us to help them open their first sites, and we’re still by their side today – 600+ sites later.

What is your advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?
I’d say, find something that you care deeply about – whether it’s the product, the service, or simply the way you do business – and build from there. For us, it was never just about delivering IT services; it was about forming genuine, lasting partnerships where relationships come first. Focus on delivering real value rather than chasing quick wins, because long-term success is what matters most.
Also, don’t underestimate the power of staying adaptable. The world is changing faster than ever, and the ability to evolve and innovate will keep you relevant. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who share your values and vision, because it’s the team that will drive your business forward.
What most excites you about Nomical?
The impact we’re able to have on our clients’ businesses. When we see how our solutions help them scale, streamline operations, or simply make their lives easier, that’s what drives us. I also love that we’re always looking ahead – exploring new technologies, trends, and asking ourselves, “How can this make our customers’ lives better?” It’s that challenge – staying ahead of the curve while keeping things simple for our clients that I find exciting. Plus, we’ve managed to grow without losing the personal touch that defines Nomical, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
The past 18 years have flown by, and in recent years, we’ve continued to evolve. We’ve grown organically through word-of-mouth and client referrals, which I think speaks volumes about the trust we’ve built.
As the digital landscape has shifted, we’ve adapted by heavily investing in our team’s development and creating in-house solutions that meet the changing needs of our clients. With the rise of remote working and the increasing importance of cybersecurity, we’ve focused on delivering robust IT strategies to keep our clients protected and operational.
Our client base has also expanded across more diverse sectors, and we’re now known for helping businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to multi-site operators, scale while staying resilient in a rapidly evolving environment.
What can we hope to see from Nomical in the future?
Looking ahead, you can expect us to keep pushing boundaries. Innovation is in our DNA, we’re committed to helping our clients navigate whatever comes next in the IT landscape. In addition, we’ll continue expanding our footprint with start-ups and multi-site operators, offering tailored, proactive support that’s scalable.
Ultimately, no matter how much we grow, our core focus will always be the same: providing our clients with the confidence that their technology is in safe hands, so they can focus on their core business goals.
