About Celonis
Celonis is the global leader in Process Mining and Process Intelligence technology. Founded in 2011 by Alexander Rinke and Bastian Nominacher, Celonis began as a university project and evolved into a high-value business, becoming Germany’s most valuable private company.
Celonis’ Process Intelligence solutions empower enterprises to measure, predict, and optimise their processes with an overview of their emissions data, to ensure decisions on sustainability can be made with accuracy.
The company helps organisations measure their carbon footprint by combining Process Intelligence with environmental data to deliver clear, actionable insights. Using tools such as the Material Emissions and Shipping Emissions apps, organisations can quantify emissions across their supply chains and operations. These apps integrate carbon emission factors, supplier ratings, and other sustainability metrics to provide a detailed view of where emissions occur, down to specific materials or shipments. By uncovering carbon-intensive processes and providing insights to optimise them, Celonis supports businesses in aligning with sustainability goals and regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency.
As well as helping customers tackle carbon emissions, Celonis has also taken tangible steps to improve its own sustainability credentials. Janina Bauer, Global Head of Sustainability at Celonis, oversees the company’s sustainability strategy and continues to evaluate and develop new ways to drive impactful emission reduction measures. For example, global growth has coincided with an increased office footprint. To tackle this challenge, Celonis is incorporating sustainability into its building selection where possible. Its goal is to power all of its offices with 100% renewable electricity. By switching to green electricity contracts, Celonis increased the proportion of renewable electricity powering our buildings from 12% in 2022 to 36% in 2023.
Celonis has also achieved some great milestones over the last few years and has committed to setting science-based targets in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net Zero Standard. This standard represents the most ambitious and globally-recognised framework for climate target setting. Furthermore, Celonis has also introduced new ‘Impact Days’, which allow Celonis employees to take three days a year to give back and create impact within their communities.
