About HowNow
HowNow is the AI learning and upskilling platform that helps organisations to connect every employee with skills-led learning, using AI agents in the flow of work. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, HowNow serves progressive mid-market and enterprise customers across 30+ countries. Customer brands include Trainline, Depop, TomTom, HotelPlan, and Investec.
Due to high, cross-sector demand, HowNow’s revenue has increased by more than 350% over the past two years, and the company’s headcount has grown to 80+ employees.
HowNow was created to solve what its three co-founders describe as a growing problem for people and business: access to continuous learning and upskilling. The HowNow team believes this is the limiting factor that prevents people from developing the skills they need to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. It’s why they created HowNow – and it’s also why the company is on a mission to upskill 10 million people by 2030 (1% of the one billion people that need to be upskilled and reskilled over the next five years – World Economic Forum).
HowNow closed its Series A funding in February 2025 having raised a total of £7.5m from Mercia Ventures, Fuel Ventures, and Pearson – the world’s largest learning company. The company’s total funding to date sits at almost £11m, and the majority of this investment is being used to drive product development and AI integration.
In April this year, the company launched HowNow Guru – a team of AI learning agents that can teach, challenge, provide feedback, and adapt to the individual learner’s capabilities and skills gaps, delivering the right verified knowledge and expertise, when they need it. Unlike traditional learning tools, Guru does not deliver generic content or passive learning experiences. It acts as an always-on coach that understands the learner, adapting to their skill level, and delivering feedback and support based on how they practise, what they need to improve on, and the business context they work in.
