Friday Initiatives is a female founded and owned data company that helps organisations strengthen resilience by uncovering both risk and value in their data. Our Data Profile tool maps and assesses data assets at pace to support cybersecurity, compliance, and strategic decision making. We work across the UK, Australia and Singapore.
Founded in 2024, Friday began with the belief that data visibility is the foundation of strong cybersecurity. Many organisations invest in defences without understanding what data they hold, where it resides, or how it moves. That lack of insight leaves them exposed to both breaches and compliance failures.
Our challenge in the early stages was to show that data governance is not only a compliance requirement but a key component of cyber resilience. Convincing organisations to see governance as a security advantage, not an administrative burden, required education, trust, and proof of impact.
We developed the Data Profile, an AI powered data mapping tool that supports both post breach remediation and proactive cyber risk mitigation. It gives organisations clarity over what data they hold and how it is used, making security decisions faster and more informed.
In the event of a breach, the Data Profile helps organisations quickly:
Identify and classify exposed data such as personal data, financial records and sensitive internal material
Map where that data resides and flows, including to third parties or cloud environments
Prioritise remediation actions by flagging high risk or high sensitivity data for containment, reporting and deletion
This accelerates response times, improves regulatory reporting accuracy, and gives legal and security teams the visibility they need to manage risk.
The tool also helps prevent incidents by strengthening governance controls. We enable purpose based access controls that align data use with business needs while automating access. We support automated deletion and retention policies, reducing the volume of forgotten or unneeded data and ensuring that it is stored and managed securely, addressing shadow IT and limiting the impact of potential breaches.
