About Arista Cyber
Arista Cyber was founded in 2021 to defend the operational systems underpinning critical infrastructure worldwide. Established by a team of veteran cybersecurity and industrial systems experts, the firm set out to close a critical gap – securing the operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) that power essential sectors like energy, utilities, and manufacturing.
From the beginning, Arista Cyber recognised the unique cybersecurity challenges of industrial environments – legacy systems built before the importance of cyber risk was truly established, the complexity of ageing and modern technologies running side by side, and the need for critical infrastructure to maintain consistent safety, compliance, and uptime standards. Many traditional cyber frameworks assume an IT-first mindset but, in industrial settings, a failed security control can mean physical damage or risk to life.
One of the earliest challenges for the company was bridging the cultural and technical divide between IT and OT teams. Conventional cybersecurity frameworks often ignore the constraints of physical operations, process safety, and strict regulatory regimes. Leading this work is Denrich Sananda, Managing Partner and Senior Consultant, an industry veteran with decades of experience in process automation and OT security. Denrich Sananda is deeply involved with the progression of industrial cybersecurity standards and frameworks, as a member of committees working on ISA99 WG2 focusing on the description of an effective cybersecurity management system in the ISA-62443-2-1 standard. The Harvard Business School alumnus also stands as one of the few TÜV Rheinland-certified functional safety trainers and serves on the Board of Directors for ISA Toronto.
