About Allye Energy

Allye Energy exists because the grid infrastructure we need for the energy transition cannot keep up with the energy transition itself. Founded in 2023, we engineer and build intelligent battery energy storage systems that help businesses and communities electrify. Grid upgrades take 3-5 years and cost millions. Construction sites still burn diesel. Film productions idle generators. EV charging projects stall. The grid we inherited from the 20th century is choking the progress we desperately need in the 21st.

We did not create this market. Decades of underinvestment in grid infrastructure did. But we built the solution: smart battery systems using repurposed EV batteries that deliver power where and when it’s needed, at half the cost and carbon footprint of alternatives. Our technology combines hardware innovation with AI-powered control systems that work both on-grid and off-grid, making batteries not just power sources but dynamic grid assets that can be deployed, redeployed, and relocated to meet changing demand.

The challenges came hard and fast. Hardware is brutally difficult. Every day feels like one step forward and two steps back. The startup gods genuinely seem determined to make you fail. As a hardware-plus-software business with real marginal costs, we faced investor scepticism that software startups never encounter. Many investors prefer capital-light SaaS models and struggle to evaluate hardware businesses with longer sales cycles and physical product complexity. After months of pitching to potential lead investors who wanted others to go first, our existing investors ultimately led our seed round themselves. We have now raised £2.8m.

But commercial traction tells the real story. We generated almost £1m in revenue in our first full year of trading and are on track to double that in 2025. We built our first system in just four months. Recently securing landmark orders exceeding £1m to decarbonise major UK infrastructure projects. Deployed systems across construction, entertainment, and commercial operations. Our customers come back for more units and renew contracts because we deliver genuine value, not just sustainability credentials.

The industry impact runs deeper than our revenue. We have proven that repurposed EV batteries can outperform new systems whilst cutting embedded carbon by 40-60%. We have demonstrated that shared battery infrastructure can make energy storage 100x more affordable for businesses and communities currently excluded from behind-the-meter solutions. We have shown that the circular economy is not just environmentally necessary but economically superior.

Every kilowatt-hour we store, every diesel generator we replace, every business we enable to electrify proves that the energy transition does not require sacrifice. It requires smarter infrastructure. We are building that infrastructure one battery at a time, turning the liability of end-of-life EV batteries into the backbone of a resilient, distributed energy network.

Our success is built on a failing system, which is simultaneously frustrating and what drives us forward. We are providing the solution while the grid gets its decades-overdue transformation. That is not just a business opportunity. That is a responsibility we take seriously
