About Feasibly
Problem:
Over 63% of new renewable energy projects in the UK fail during planning, wasting £1.2bn every year. The process is dominated by manual site assessments and outdated geospatial software from the early 2000s, slowing timelines and missing high-quality, low-risk opportunities. These inefficiencies aren’t just operational – they’re predictable. With the right data and models, site risk and feasibility can be statistically quantified, yet the industry still relies on slow, manual workflows.
About Us:
Feasibly is tackling one of the UK’s most expensive climate bottlenecks: renewable energy planning. Our AI-native geospatial platform turns months of manual site analysis into seconds, replacing spreadsheets, maps, and consultant reports with instant, natural-language insights. Developers can now find the right sites, de-risk projects, and accelerate deployment – all before spending a single six-figure sum.
We’ve raised over £600k pre-product, including VC backing from Praetura Ventures, and secured two Innovate UK R&D grants entirely on our own – no grant-writer, no friends-and-family cheques.
When did you start:
Feasibly was founded straight out of Durham University, driven by a shared obsession with fixing the UK’s renewable planning bottleneck. While finishing an MSc in Geospatial Data Science (#1 in class), Leo built the startup from scratch, writing his dissertation in a 70-hour sprint. Beth co-founded while logging 75hr weeks supporting 100+ renewable projects, winning a rare Innovate UK personal award and earning a seat on the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub Steering Group. For two years, we ran a consultancy to learn the sector’s pain points inside out – and now, we’re building AI that can make infrastructure plan and build itself.
Challenges:
We started with no savings, no industry connections, and no family-and-friends capital – just grit and passion. We defied the odds: winning two Innovate competitions (which had ~10% success rates), raising VC (when only 18.5% of UK VC funds go to mixed-gender founding teams), being selected for both the Ada Angels Angel Programme and the prestigious Geovation Accelerator, and securing Durham University investment.
Both of us had experienced fuel poverty and saw the impact of an ineffective grid transition firsthand. Every milestone – fundraising, product development, early adoption – was built from scratch.
Impact:
Feasibly has already transformed renewable development in one of the UK’s most deprived council areas, reducing planning costs by over 90% through automation. This has enabled local councils to benefit from renewable energy where it was previously infeasible. This project was shortlisted by the North East Mayor for government funding, proving both the social and commercial value of what we’re building.
Vision:
We’re just getting started – and now is the time to watch us. After laying the groundwork and building a defensible AI tech moat, we’ve now launched our first trials with strong results (oversubscribed beta, 12 B2B signups in 24hrs, 8% cold outreach to signup rate).
With our first VC cheque in hand, we’re now focused on driving consistent revenue and scaling rapidly, with a £1m fundraising round (£200k already secured) launching in 2026. We are building the category-defining tech for geospatial industries, which will reimagine how renewables are built, scaled and delivered across the world.
