About SpaceD

SpaceD is a London-based climate tech and digital infrastructure startup founded by Pegah Noori Khah in 2024 with a mission to build a greener and more resilient foundation for the future of cities. The company was born out of Pegahs first-hand experience working with city authorities, real estate owners and data ecosystem stakeholders, where she repeatedly observed two profound challenges: growing pressure on urban digital capacity and the urgent need to decarbonise commercial buildings. SpaceD addresses both by transforming vacant and underused properties into sustainable micro data centres powered by smart location intelligence.

Pegahs journey began long before SpaceD officially launched. After completing an MSc in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics at CASA UCL and a BA in Architecture in Iran, she worked across urban technology, digital twins, and energy-efficient building innovation. While leading an international project with C40 Cities, she saw the huge gap between sustainability commitments and the lack of practical tools to deliver low carbon infrastructure in real time urban conditions. This became the foundation for SpaceDs vision: using artificial intelligence and geospatial data to support the next generation of distributed data infrastructure that is both climate aligned and commercially viable.

Starting SpaceD has not been without challenges. As a founder from a minority background entering a male dominated industry, Pegah had to push through barriers around visibility, credibility and access. Securing early partnerships required patience and consistent validation of the problem space. She also had to build trust among real estate owners who are often hesitant to adopt new models of digital infrastructure. Each challenge, however, strengthened the company by grounding its product in real industry needs and ensuring that SpaceDs technology is built around cross sector collaboration and tangible value for property owners, telecom operators and data centre partners.

Despite being an early stage startup, SpaceD has achieved significant traction. The company was selected as one of six teams for the Geovation Accelerator, backed by Ordnance Survey and HM Land Registry. It was named a UK Finalist in the global ClimateLaunchpad competition, recognising its potential to reduce emissions by enabling heat reuse and accelerating greener data deployment. Pegah was also chosen for the prestigious Innovate UK Global Business Innovation Programme for Women in AI in Sweden 2026, highlighting SpaceDs technological innovation and her growing influence in AI driven urban infrastructure.

SpaceDs impact on the industry lies in its unique intersection of climate, real estate and digital networks. By enabling micro data centres to be placed strategically within cities, the company is helping the sector move away from energy intensive mega facilities located far from demand. This shift reduces latency, supports 5G and AI workloads, and turns wasted heat into a low carbon resource for buildings and districts. SpaceD provides a practical pathway for cities to expand digital capacity without expanding their environmental footprint.

SpaceD stands out because it is not only building technology but also reshaping how cities think about digital infrastructure. The company is driven by a belief that the future of data can be local, circular and sustainable, and that underrepresented founders can play a defining role in building that future.
