About vendi

We launched vendi in 2019 with a clear mission to bring trust, clarity and fairness to the second hand electronics market for new and refurbished items. After years buying and selling in marketplaces, it was surprising to see how little they had evolved in terms of trust. It was very easy to find what you needed, but very difficult to trust it.

With vendi, we found a compromise between the peer-to-peer experience (high risk but cheaper prices) and the traditional safer journey where brands could buy or sell your tech (safer but expensive and still difficult to trust). Prices changed without reason, conditions were graded with no standard, and many customers felt uncertain about whether they would actually receive the amount promised. We set out to fix that by building a service where people could sell or buy devices with total confidence.

As a young company with limited resources, we had to redesign logistics flows and develop our own in house tech to support quality control systems from the ground up. Another challenge was gaining customer trust in a sector that has often disappointed buyers and sellers. We tackled this by creating a platform that offered transparent processes, fast payments and consistent grading standards that customers could rely on.

We have invested heavily in data and automation to improve accuracy and maintain fair pricing. This allowed us to offer reliable valuations, faster turnarounds and a smoother experience for both buyers and sellers. At our core, the customers and their feedback. Our feedback loop system has been key to quickly adapt towards what the market needed.

The impact of vendi on the wider market has been significant. We have helped raise the standard for transparency in the trade in value chain. Our approach encourages fair pricing by removing misleading offers and complicated terms. Thousands of customers across the UK have benefited from our simple process and fast payouts, reducing friction and creating a better overall experience.
