Tell us about Batch LDN.
Batch LDN is a menswear brand built on the principle that fashion should be both stylish and sustainable. We create timeless pieces that fuse modern tailoring with conscious design. Understanding how important it is to feel confident in your clothes, our brand focuses on effortless hero items that remove the stress from getting dressed, pieces designed to make you look good and feel even better. Our mission is to raise the standard in fashion by offering standout, handcrafted staples that work seamlessly in your wardrobe and deliver real value.
Julian Osborne and I (Sam Matanle) launched Batch in 2022. We have grown from a self funded start up into one of the UK’s most exciting menswear brands. We have a flagship store in Covent Garden, a loyal community of customers and a roster of celebrity fans including Steven Bartlett, Simon Pegg, Ashley Walters, Ant & Dec, Romesh Ranganathan and Leo Woodall.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
The idea for Batch came from recognising a gap in the market for menswear that looked sharp but also aligned with values of sustainability and responsible production. Julian and I wanted to create a brand that delivered high quality pieces without compromising on ethics or style.

Tell us about your core products or services.
Batch specialises in menswear that is versatile, durable, and timeless. The collection centres on elevated wardrobe staples crafted from premium fabrics, with a strong focus on sustainable sourcing and responsible production.
We have reimagined the suit as a modern, versatile staple that is equally at home in the boardroom, at a wedding, over dinner with friends, or even at a family celebration. The result is a relaxed, effortless style, handcrafted from premium Italian fabrics and made-to-order in London workshops. The range, spanning jackets, trousers, shirts, and overcoats, has fast become a customer favourite. We have a market leading returned product rate of 0.2% which I think highlights both the quality of the pieces that we make and our commitment to perfecting the fit.
In November 2024, we opened our flagship store in Seven Dials, Covent Garden. The space offers a personal fitting and styling service in a welcoming, relaxed setting. Customers can drop in or book appointments, while the dedicated styling suite is also available for external stylists to hire. The store doubles as a private event venue, where we frequently host our own community driven experiences. Through the Batch Members Club, loyal clients enjoy early access to new releases, exclusive events, and the chance to be part of our growing network of authentic, style conscious individuals.
What most excites you about the sustainable fashion / menswear industry?
The shift in consumer awareness is exciting. More people are looking for clothes that not only look good but also feel good to wear because they’re made responsibly. In menswear especially, there’s an opportunity to challenge fast fashion by offering elevated, long lasting pieces that respect the planet. And let’s be honest, people are sick of having to buy the same item multiple times because it falls apart after a few wears.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome along the way?
There are endless challenges starting a business in the UK, particularly in an industry that’s very competitive. But one of the biggest challenges has been balancing sustainability with affordability. Producing responsibly often comes at a higher cost, so finding ways to make sustainable menswear accessible without compromising on quality has been a challenge along the way. It’s why we landed on making-to-order, it allows us to produce a much higher quality, for less, all while delivering zero waste.
What is your number one piece of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?
My number one piece of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to find the right business partner. Building a company can be an incredible journey, but it’s also full of challenges, and having someone by your side who shares your vision makes all the difference. A good partner balances your strengths and weaknesses, gives you accountability, and helps you see opportunities and solutions you might miss on your own. Most importantly, when the pressure is on, you’ve got someone to share both the responsibility and the wins with. For us, having that partnership has been the foundation of everything we’ve achieved.
What can we hope to see from Batch in the future?
Batch will continue to expand its core collection while exploring new categories within menswear. The goal is to push the boundaries of sustainable fashion further, innovating with fabrics and processes, and becoming a leader in conscious menswear design.
