Buying tailored clothing online has always come with a leap of faith. You choose fabrics, tweak lapels, select buttons and then hope the measurements are right when the parcel arrives. Hockerty wants to make that uncertainty a thing of the past.
The online tailoring platform has launched a new AI-powered body profiling system that aims to make made-to-measure shopping faster, simpler and far more personal. Instead of asking customers to measure themselves manually, the new tool generates a personalised body profile using just height, weight and age.
From there, Hockerty creates a digital body model showing estimated measurements, which customers can review and adjust if they wish. Once confirmed, the profile is saved to their account, meaning future orders can be placed without starting from scratch each time.
How Does It Work?
The technology behind the 3D Digital Body Profile is designed to replicate what happens in a tailoring studio, but online. Algorithms trained on thousands of body types calculate proportions and adjust measurements to reflect real human variation rather than standard sizing templates.
Customers remain in control throughout the process. They can fine-tune individual measurements or approve the suggested profile straight away. Over time, the system learns from orders and feedback, helping improve accuracy with each purchase.
For shoppers who have been put off custom clothing in the past by complicated measuring guides or fear of getting it wrong, the aim is to make tailoring feel far more approachable.

Key Benefits For Shoppers
Hockerty says the new system is not just about convenience, but about improving the overall experience of buying bespoke clothing online. Saved body profiles reduce the time it takes to place repeat orders, while more accurate sizing helps cut down on remakes and returns.
That has sustainability implications too. Fewer sizing errors mean less wasted fabric, fewer shipments back and forth, and more efficient production overall, an increasingly important factor as fashion brands face pressure to reduce their environmental impact.
The interface itself has been designed with digital-first shoppers in mind, focusing on clarity rather than technical jargon, and reassurance rather than complexity.
True Personalisation
The body profile is just one part of a broader push by Hockerty to make online tailoring feel more human. Earlier this year, the company introduced a skin tone configurator within its design tools, allowing customers to select models whose complexion closely matches their own.
This gives a more realistic preview of how fabrics and colours will look when worn, helping customers make more confident design choices.
Hockerty has also launched SOFIA, an AI-based style assistant that offers guidance on fit, fabric and styling as customers design their garments. Rather than replacing human judgement, SOFIA is designed to feel like a digital companion, offering suggestions at the moments people usually hesitate.
Tailoring In The Digital World
“In a world where the fashion industry forces people to fit into boxes, we want to do the opposite,” said Salva Jovells, Acquisition Marketing Manager at Hockerty. “Our goal is to help customers feel confident and secure wearing garments that are made for them.”
With its latest tools, Hockerty is continuing to blur the line between traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, showing how tailoring can evolve without losing its personal touch.
