From day one, we pioneered the spend management category in Europe, proving that modern workflows, automation and real-time visibility could replace the fragmented, manual processes finance teams had been forced to accept. Like any startup, as we scaled, we faced challenges that pushed us to evolve. To move faster and deliver a smoother end‑to‑end experience, we built Spendesk Financial Services, our own regulated payment institution. Having full control of the payment chain has accelerated innovation and opened new revenue opportunities. And as our customers’ needs grew, we expanded our scope. Acquiring Okko and launching Spendesk Procurement allowed us to move into the full procure‑to‑pay cycle, strengthening our platform and supporting continued double‑digit revenue growth.

We also reshaped the organisation to make it more scalable and future‑ready, a shift that strengthened our foundations and accelerated our path to profitability. This meant we could keep investing boldly in innovation while becoming the first European spend‑management platform to reach profitability. Spendesk is entering our most ambitious chapter yet with a bold vision:Work Better, Spend Smarter. We’ve already delivered on Work Better through our regulated payment institution and procurement expansion. We are now building the next evolution of finance technology to transform the Office of the CFO: Spend Planning & Analysis (SP&A), powered by agentic AI.

Finance teams no longer want tools that simply track spend, they want tools that help them optimise it. SP&A does exactly that; instead of backward-looking reporting and static annual budgets, SP&A uses AI to model the impact of spend decisions in real time. Our agents will collect receipts and invoices, approve or escalate expenses according to policy, surface risks and help finance teams focus on forward-looking decisions rather than explaining the past.

This shift is underway, we’ve built a dedicated Data & AI team and will launch our first AI features in beta in Q2 2026. We’re also rolling out Spendesk Travel, the number-one customer request, giving companies a unified view across expenses, procurement, AP and travel. With €10bn in annual spend data and deep workflow integration, we’re positioned to lead this transformation.

Internally, we’re living the AI shift ourselves. 83% of our team uses AI weekly, with more than 150 internal agents created. This AI-native culture gives us first hand insight into how AI can reshape work and how we can help our customers navigate the same journey.
