LearnLoop was founded in January 2026 to solve a structural problem in education: access to academic support is determined by the ability to pay rather than the ability to learn. Private tutoring consistently improves academic outcomes, yet millions of students are priced out while many of those same students already possess valuable knowledge they could teach to others. LearnLoop replaces money with knowledge as the currency of education, creating a peer-to-peer learning economy where students earn learning credits by teaching concepts they already understand and spend those credits to learn concepts they do not. By turning knowledge into a tradable asset, LearnLoop removes money from the equation while making high-quality academic support more accessible and equitable.
The company was founded after its founder experienced both sides of the tutoring market simultaneously. While working several hours as a private tutor to afford a single tutoring session for himself, he realised the system treated knowledge only as a service to buy, never as an asset students could exchange. The challenge was not building another tutoring marketplace, but creating a trusted knowledge exchange where students could confidently learn from one another at scale.
AI is the foundation that makes this model possible. Rather than simply adding AI features to tutoring, LearnLoop uses AI to verify tutor readiness, intelligently match learners based on academic needs and learning preferences, support live tutoring sessions, generate personalised revision resources, and continuously evaluate teaching quality. Without AI-driven trust and quality assurance, a large scale student powered knowledge exchange would not be viable.
Within its first four months, LearnLoop was selected for the Red Bull Basement World Finals, competing against 47 startups chosen from more than 138000 applications worldwide. The platform has also attracted a waitlist of more than 270 students across seven countries without paid acquisition, demonstrating strong early demand for an alternative to traditional tutoring.
Founder Navaan Sachdeva first experienced this problem while studying in UAE, where despite switching between three education systems he saw that access to high-quality tutoring often depends on household income and educational resources remain unevenly distributed. Because knowledge rather than money powers the platform, LearnLoop can expand across schools, universities, and communities while lowering financial barriers to academic support throughout the MENA region and beyond.
LearnLoop provides free access to students while generating revenue through institutional partnerships, contextual advertising, and anonymised learning insights that help educational organisations identify where students are struggling and improve learning outcomes. Rather than competing within the existing tutoring market, LearnLoop is building the infrastructure for a global knowledge exchange where students exchange knowledge instead of money, allowing every learner to become both a teacher and a student while making high-quality academic support more accessible, scalable, and equitable.
