AI is rapidly finding its way into every corner of the economy, from healthcare and finance to customer service and logistics. Now, it seems like even the motorhome industry is getting its own AI upgrade.
Halifax-based business Motorhome Pig has launched what it describes as the UK’s first AI-powered instant motorhome valuation platform, aiming to remove some of the friction that often comes with selling a motorhome online.
The launch is the latest example of how AI is being used to modernise industries that have traditionally relied on manual processes and specialist knowledge.
Tackling An All Too Familiar Frustration
Anyone who has sold a vehicle (or really anything) online will be familiar with the process. A website advertises an “instant valuation”, only for the user to submit their details and wait for a phone call before receiving a meaningful quote.
Motorhome Pig’s new platform is designed to streamline that journey and remove a whole lot of frustration.
Rather than acting as a simple lead-generation form, the platform guides users through a series of questions about their vehicle before generating a valuation pathway tailored to their circumstances. The aim is to give sellers a clearer understanding of their options immediately, while still allowing them to speak to specialists if they want further advice.
According to the company, the technology has been developed entirely in-house and builds on years of work refining systems used throughout its business.
A Father-And-Son Business Built Around Technology
Motorhome Pig was founded by father-and-son team Gary and Lewis Cheetham and has grown into one of the UK’s larger specialist motorhome brokerages.
While the company operates in a relatively traditional industry, technology has played a significant role in its growth strategy.
Co-founder Lewis Cheetham has spent almost a decade developing software for the automotive sector, work that reportedly began with support from The King’s Trust. What started as a platform connecting private car sellers with local dealers has evolved into a broader suite of technology used across the business.
Today, that technology underpins customer dashboards, an AI assistant called Alison and the newly launched valuation platform.
Speaking about the launch, Lewis said the goal was to provide sellers with useful information immediately, rather than adding another step to the process.
“For us, AI has never been about replacing people. It’s about removing unnecessary waiting, uncertainty and frustration so our team can spend more time helping customers make the right decision.”

The motorhome market has seen significant growth over the past decade, particularly following increased interest in domestic travel and flexible lifestyles. But still, many aspects of buying and selling motorhomes remain relatively traditional compared to other automotive segments.
Motorhome Pig believes that technology can help bridge that gap. The company has expanded steadily in recent years, growing its team to 17 employees and moving into larger premises while continuing to invest in proprietary software.
Whether AI-powered valuations become standard across the industry remains to be seen. But as businesses across sectors look for practical ways to use AI, tools that reduce waiting times and improve transparency are likely to become increasingly common.
For Motorhome Pig, the launch is another sign that even highly specialised industries are beginning to embrace AI. Not necessarily to replace human expertise, but rather to make it more accessible from the very first interaction.
