Anthropic has just introduced three new role based certifications to its Claude Certification Programme as it keeps building its partner network around enterprise AI. The company wants the programme to help businesses identify people who have proven they can work with Claude, instead of through just completing a training course.
The new qualifications are Claude Certified Associate Foundations, Claude Certified Developer Foundations and Claude Certified Architect Professional, which all join the existing Claude Certified Architect Foundations certification.
Anthropic said every person starts with a foundation level certification before progressing to the professional level. The courses are for everyone from consultants and project leads to engineers and solution architects. The company said subject matter specialists designed each exam around the day to day work people actually carry out.
Anthropic said more than 36,000 consultants from more than 1,300 organisations have received certification since March already. It also said more than 400,000 people have completed Claude training this year through the free Anthropic Partner Academy.
Why Are Businesses Putting So Much Focus On Certification?
This all comes from the fact that Anthropic believes businesses want more than a badge when choosing a partner to help introduce AI into their organisation. Every certification exam is supervised and requires identity verification, giving customers extra reassurance about the skills of certified professionals.
Steve Corfield, Head of Global Business Development and Partnerships at Anthropic, said, “The companies that pull ahead over the next twelve months will be the ones with enough skilled people to put Claude to work on their hardest problems. Every major technology shift has been carried by a trained, trusted workforce, and AI is no different. That’s what we’re building with our partners, and it’s why the world’s largest firms are certifying their people by the tens of thousands.”

Consulting companies are already committing to certify thousands of employees. Anthropic said Accenture plans to certify 50,000 professionals, PwC 30,000, DXC 20,000, UST 20,000, Deloitte and KPMG 15,000 each, Cognizant, Infosys and TCS 10,000 each.
The programme is also appealing to specialist AI consultancies. Anthropic said Ascendion plans to certify its entire 8,000 person engineering team before 2027. EPAM expects more than 10,000 Claude certified architects, Globant is working towards 5,000 certified architects, Persistent expects more than 3,000 certifications before the end of 2026 and Fractal is targeting 2,000 certified practitioners.
How Do The Exams Work?
Anthropic is running the certification programme with Pearson, using Pearson Professional Assessments. Every exam is supervised, candidates must verify their identity before starting, and successful candidates receive a digital badge through Credly from Pearson.
Anthropic said these checks are important because businesses use certification when choosing consulting partners and deciding who will work on AI projects. Certified practitioner totals also help determine where partners rank within the Claude Partner Network.
Vishaal Gupta, President, Enterprise Learning and Skills at Pearson, said, “AI is moving faster than most people’s ability to build the skills to use it confidently, and that gap is exactly what verified assessment is built to close. Anthropic has built the first proctored certification among AI labs that uses the same trusted infrastructure for skills, credentials, and verified outcomes that Pearson uses across professional licensure. This is another example that shows why Anthropic is a trusted AI partner for businesses globally.”
Anthropic said companies joining the Claude Partner Network can access certification preparation courses through the Anthropic Partner Academy before taking the exams and that membership of the partner network is free.
