About LLA Technologies
LLA Technologies is working to change the way the world approaches cardiac care, one heartbeat at a time. Through Recordis, its patented clinical-grade cardiac data platform, the company captures detailed mechanical heart performance in one minute using a portable, non-invasive sensor.
LLA Technologies was founded in 2007 in Surrey, British Columbian to address a fundamental gap in cardiac care. Despite heart disease remaining one of the world’s leading causes of death, access to detailed cardiac assessment has traditionally depended on expensive equipment, specialist clinicians and hospital settings. Millions of people therefore go without timely cardiac insight until symptoms become more severe or intervention becomes more complex.
To change that, LLA set out to develop an entirely new way of measuring heart function. LLA has spent 17 years turning seismocardiography from a research protocol into a regulated, clinically credible and commercially scalable healthtech platform. Recordis measures the subtle three-dimensional motion of the heart and generates more than 120 cardiac biomarkers per heartbeat. The result is a new layer of cardiac insight that complements ECG and echocardiography while reducing cost, complexity and barriers to access.
The challenge has been significant. LLA has had to prove a new category of cardiac measurement, build regulated hardware and software, protect its intellectual property, validate clinical relevance, address real-world user feedback, prepare a second-generation device for scale, and build the quality, security and regulatory foundations needed for market adoption.
Recordis holds a Health Canada Class II Medical Device License, with a U.S. FDA 510k submission pending, and operates within a framework supported by ISO 13485, ISO 27001 and IEC 60601 certifications. The platform includes the Recordis device, clinical management dashboard, secure cloud infrastructure, automated reporting, and a growing dataset of more than 5.5 million heartbeat recordings. Product development has been shaped around the decisions that matter beyond the next milestone: usability, manufacturing readiness, clinical workflow, regulatory pathway, data security and commercial viability.
The impact is already visible today: Recordis is being applied and evaluated across cardiac monitoring, occupational health, remote care, clinical research, aortic stenosis monitoring, global longitudinal strain research, pediatric oncology cardiac monitoring, and stress related cardiac health. LLA has activity and collaborations across Canada and North America, with growing international work in regions including the Middle East and underserved health systems, as well as public sector and UN linked networks.
The company is now entering a pivotal growth phase, moving from research and development into commercial validation, expanded clinical deployment and global market entry.
The ambition is not simply to build another medical device. It is to create a cardiac intelligence layer that helps clinicians, health systems, employers and communities identify risk earlier, monitor change over time, and make cardiac care more preventive, accessible and data driven.
