About Foyer

Foyer was founded in 2022 to help renters become financially ready for their first home purchase. Built by Landy Liu, a former Wall Street mortgage trader and early Better.com leader, the company emerged from a clear gap in the US housing system: many aspiring buyers have the desire to own but lack a structured way to save, build credit, understand affordability, find assistance, and prepare for the mortgage process.

Foyer addresses that gap through a savings and planning platform designed specifically for first-time homebuyers. Its 401k for homeownership model combines dedicated down-payment savings, matching contributions, competitive yields, rewards, credit-building tools, education, affordability planning, homeownership advisors, down-payment assistance discovery, and access to providers across the buying journey. Rather than engaging buyers only when they are ready to transact, Foyer helps them prepare months or years in advance.

The company has grown while operating in a difficult housing environment marked by high prices, elevated borrowing costs, limited starter-home supply, and increasingly long savings timelines. Foyer now serves about 10,000 savers and has reported roughly 4x growth in paid users, 3x growth in deposit volume, and 3x growth in monthly home purchases over the past year. The company also reported about 20,000 total customers by the end of FY2025 and has raised $6.2 million from venture capital, mission aligned strategic investors, and foundations.

Foyer is contributing to the US housing and financial ecosystem by connecting consumers, employers, benefits providers, real estate companies, lenders, and homeownership advisors around buyer readiness. Partnerships and pilots with Anywhere Real Estate, Zillow, Prosperity Home Mortgage, and Nayya extend the platform across real estate, mortgage, and workplace benefits channels. About 70 percent of users are women and about 30 percent are from low to moderate income households, demonstrating reach among groups that have historically faced barriers in housing finance.

By turning homeownership preparation into a structured, trackable financial process, Foyer is helping more renters move from aspiration toward informed readiness and giving industry partners better tools to support first-time buyers.”
