This October, communities across live-streaming platform Tango are turning the connections they have built online into collective action, coming together to support breast cancer research and encourage more open conversations about the disease.
From October 13-18, several of Tango’s highest-performing creator communities, known on the platform as “Families,” will take part in Stream for a Good Cause, a week-long initiative marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Each day, different Families and their creators will host designated live streams focused on the cause. Participating creators will contribute 20% of the value of gifts generated during those streams to breast cancer research, with Tango adding three times the amount raised by creators.
The initiative is designed to make the communities themselves part of the effort. Rather than separating fundraising from the everyday experience of the platform, creators will bring the cause directly into their live streams, where audiences already gather, interact and return regularly.
“For us, it’s a privilege to be able to use the platform to support a cause like this,” said Yaniv Schwartz, EVP Creators Ecosystem & Platform Business at Tango. “The majority of the creators on Tango are women, which makes this initiative particularly meaningful to our community. We want to use October not only to contribute financially, but to give creators space to talk openly about breast cancer and bring those conversations to the people who join them every day.”

Alongside fundraising, participating creators will use their streams to speak about breast cancer and, where relevant, share how the disease has affected their own lives, families or communities. The goal is to keep conversations around breast cancer, prevention and early detection visible while creating space for experiences that can often feel difficult to discuss.
That community element reflects how Tango Families operate beyond the campaign itself. Built around ongoing interaction, Families bring creators together to stream, support one another and develop relationships with audiences over time. During Stream for a Good Cause, dozens of creators across participating Families will use those existing relationships to extend the campaign’s reach.
“What makes a community meaningful isn’t only the time we spend together, but what we can do together,” said Kevin, Head of L&L Family at Tango. “Breast cancer affects so many people around the world, and this is an opportunity for L&L to turn the connections we’ve built into something that can have an impact beyond our streams. I’m proud that our creators and community can come together to raise funds, raise awareness and be part of something that genuinely matters.”
Throughout the week, Tango will provide participating streams with additional visibility across the platform, helping creators reach wider audiences while amplifying the campaign’s fundraising and awareness efforts.
For the communities involved, the initiative also demonstrates how relationships formed through live streaming can extend beyond entertainment. The same real-time interaction that allows creators and audiences to get to know one another can become a channel for supporting issues that matter to them.
“People come into our streams every day and over time you really get to know each other,” said Nick, Head of the Royal Angels Agency. “This is a serious subject, and we want to treat it that way. For us, participating means using the community we already have to raise awareness, share experiences and contribute to research at the same time.”
By bringing fundraising and conversation into an environment built around live participation, Tango’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative aims to show what creator-led communities can accomplish when their reach is mobilised around a shared cause.
