About Hendrix Rose PR

Hendrix Rose PR is an award-winning independent agency helping startups, SMEs and challenger brands use communications to achieve their business goals. Founded in Manchester in January 2024 by trained journalist turned PR professional Gemma Eccleston, it makes senior strategic PR support accessible to ambitious businesses without requiring a big agency budget.

With more than 15 years of experience, Gemma built the agency around a clear principle: successful PR starts with understanding the business. Every campaign begins with its objectives, audiences and commercial challenges, whether building awareness, increasing sales, entering new markets or strengthening credibility ahead of fundraising.

That understanding shapes the strategy and measures of success. Evaluation looks beyond coverage volumes to assess contributions to website traffic, enquiries, customer acquisition and wider business objectives. Clients receive direct senior counsel and clear conversations about what their investment needs to deliver.

Support adapts to client priorities, budgets and growth stages through ongoing consultancy, focused campaigns or individual projects. Its portfolio includes numerous tech businesses such as Nexer Digital, PushON, Chapter 2 Dating, Verde Digital, Dotlines and Personnel Checks.

The agency also helps businesses navigate Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), connecting authoritative media coverage, useful content and consistent messaging to support visibility in AI-generated answers and summaries alongside traditional publications. This includes assessing how AI tools describe clients and identifying opportunities to strengthen their digital presence.

Building a new agency meant establishing trust while balancing accessible pricing with sustainable growth. A lean operating model, hands-on founder involvement and senior freelance specialists have enabled Hendrix Rose PR to meet that challenge. In the latest financial year, turnover increased by approximately 93% and profit after tax rose by 128%.

For Chapter 2 Dating, the objective was to help a platform for widows and widowers reach potential members and increase subscriptions. The agency combined community research with the cultural relevance of the latest Bridget Jones film to make dating after loss part of a national conversation.

The three-month campaign delivered a 134% increase in organic and direct traffic, a 96% increase in new users and the highest subscriber growth month in the history of the business. It won a PRmoment Award, the first industry award the agency had entered.

For Nexer Digital, Hendrix Rose created a campaign called I Matter Too, which supported its positioning as a trusted accessibility partner ahead of the European Accessibility Act. Hendrix Rose created a video, from concept and filming through to editing and production, featuring lived experiences of exclusion. Media relations, social content and educational resources helped business audiences understand the human consequences of inaccessible design and the need to act. The campaign generated 81 pieces of coverage with a 2.27 billion combined media reach, alongside increased website traffic and LinkedIn engagement.

As a PRCA member, Hendrix Rose champions accessible, accountable communications. Its model gives smaller businesses experienced advice while creating flexible opportunities for senior practitioners, including working parents. Its ambition is to make effective PR a realistic investment for more growing businesses, judged by the difference it makes to them.
