About Marketri
Marketri is a B2B marketing firm founded in 2004 by Debra Andrews after two decades in finance and marketing across Big Four accounting, private equity and investment banking. We work with mid-market companies on a retainer basis, providing marketing strategy, hands-on delivery and analytics, with a focus on professional services firms.
We operate as a fractional marketing team. Clients get a slice of every specialty a full marketing department needs, from senior strategy through content, digital, PR, analytics and AI, without hiring for each role. We are fully remote and serve companies across the United States, including international firms building a presence in the US market.
In March 2025, we launched a dedicated PR practice, starting with our own brand. The brief was specific. It had to earn coverage that builds credibility with buyers, and that coverage also had to show up when those buyers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews for recommendations.
The challenge was twofold. Mid-market B2B firms often have the most useful expertise in their industries, but their stories need the right framing and the right outlet to reach decision-makers. Meanwhile, the way buyers research vendors changed quickly. Generative search tools cite a narrow set of sources, and many placements agencies celebrate, such as paid listings and low-authority syndication, do not appear in AI answers at all. Domain authority and estimated reach stopped telling companies whether their coverage was working.
So we built the practice around AI visibility as a core measure of success. Every outlet is vetted for editorial fit and for whether AI engines cite it. Every placement starts with the expertise of the spokesperson. We identify the opportunities where their knowledge fits, match them with the right editors and reporters, and prepare them to speak with confidence. The insight and the voice are theirs. Our role is making sure it reaches the right audience.
In its first 16 months, our internal PR program secured 166 curated placements for Marketri and its leadership, and 84 percent landed in outlets that AI engines actively cite. The result shows earned media can be planned around discoverability without lowering editorial standards, and that a mid-market firm can compete for visibility against much larger brands.
We bring the same approach to clients across professional services, financial services, healthcare, technology and industrial sectors. In specialized B2B markets, trade press matters as much as national coverage, and one well-placed expert quote can shape how an AI tool describes an entire category.
Our view is that AI search is now a channel PR teams have to earn their way into, and it should be measured openly. Because PR sits inside a full marketing team at Marketri, placements connect directly to content, digital and analytics rather than living in a separate report. That integration is the model we believe more of the industry will move toward.
