About Nadia Kadhim
Technology, such as telehealth, health apps, wearable sensors and virtual reality, are increasingly important for stretched healthcare services in the UK and across the world. To uphold the quality of care, technologies must provide assurances their product is safe, secure and accessible. To do this, they must meet standards outlined by national healthcare bodies.
But compliance with these standards presents a significant hurdle for digital health companies. The time, skills and money needed is the industry’s reported biggest barrier, especially as 80% of companies in this sector are small or medium companies. In-fact meeting standards stops 50% of innovations getting to market.
Seeing this problem, in 2020 GDPR Lawyer, Nadia Kadhim founded Naq, to dismantle the barriers of compliance, enabling innovators to focus on their core mission of enhancing patient health and pioneering the future of healthcare technology.
Naq is the healthcare market’s first automated compliance platform. Automating 80% of compliance tasks, it’s fast, simple, and saves companies 160,000 hours and £20,000 a year. It has enabled hundreds of life changing products to make it into healthcare providers and be used by patients.
Naq has grown by 300% over the last 12 months, and this year achieved some big milestones. The NHS Innovation Accelerator award-winning programme chose to partner with Naq to streamline compliance for its innovators, it was awarded a prestigious Smart Grant from Innovate UK to build additional AI into its platform.
This year Naq also secured €3M in an oversubscribed funding round, at a time when start-ups, particularly those led by female entrepreneurs, find it increasingly challenging to secure investment, with less than 2% of European Venture Capital Funding going to female founders.
