About Intruder
What does the company do?
Intruder is an attack surface management and vulnerability management platform that helps organizations find, prioritize, and address critical security weaknesses across their attack surface. With real-time monitoring, smart prioritization, and timely alerts, Intruder ensures you can focus on the most important vulnerabilities, minimizing your exposure to cyber threats.
When did you start?
Intruder was founded in 2015 by Chris Wallis, a former ethical hacker and defender of critical national infrastructure. He noticed that while existing vulnerability management tools could identify issues, they often failed to prioritize them effectively or alert teams quickly enough to take action.
What problem are you setting out to solve and what are the results so far?
Intruder was created to tackle the issue of information overload in vulnerability management. Many tools identify vulnerabilities but fail to highlight which ones pose the highest risk. Intruder cuts through the noise by automatically prioritizing the most critical weaknesses, saving security teams valuable time. Since its launch, Intruder has helped thousands customers worldwide streamline their security processes.
What challenges have you overcome?
Managing vulnerabilities while keeping up with an expanding attack surface is a significant challenge. As organizations grow, it becomes harder to track what’s exposed online, increasing the risk of overlooked weaknesses; our research (https://www.intruder.io/blog/find-your-assets-before-the-hackers-do) found that businesses are only including 21% of their internet-facing assets within the scope of their vulnerability management programs on average. Intruder helps solve this by continuously monitoring assets, automatically scanning new exposures, and prioritizing critical risks — helping teams stop breaches before they start.
What impact on the cybersecurity industry has the company had?
Intruder has simplified vulnerability management, making it easier for organizations to stay ahead of attackers by focusing on the most critical risks. Recognized for its innovation, Intruder was selected for GCHQ’s Cyber Accelerator and featured on Deloitte’s Tech Fast 50 2023 list as the UK’s fastest-growing cybersecurity company. With over 3,000 satisfied customers globally, Intruder continues to make cybersecurity more accessible and efficient.
