About OmniIndex
Established in 2020, OmniIndex stands out with its unique proposition – the world’s only commercial data platform enabling you to keep all of your data encrypted, all of the time.
At the core of OmniIndex’s zero-trust data platform, PostgresBC, are its patented encryption and data management methods, which make it uniquely possible to search and analyse fully encrypted data. In achieving this, OmniIndex solves one of cybersecurity’s biggest challenges: providing the security that regulated and confidential data needs without limiting its usefulness and value.
Initially proven at scale in education management and through high-profile partnerships, including Google Cloud and Oracle, OmniIndex’s cybersecurity solution is now being used in healthcare to simultaneously protect medical data from attack while also providing previously impossible insights.
For example, Uniq Health relies on OmniIndex’s platform to offer users personalised medical advice from fully encrypted gut, blood and DNA tests. This is possible with OmniIndex as its technology can encrypt unstructured medical data and then extract the critical data needed from it for analytics while remaining compliant with strict data regulations. Other implementations include a health centre gaining device information from encrypted DICOM images to predict and manage costly machine repair and a research centre exploring the potential of predictive medical analytics from fully encrypted X-rays.
In order to be a viable cybersecurity solution for Uniq Health and its other customers, OmniIndex had to overcome homomorphic encryption’s infamy for slow processing speeds and provide real-time insights from the fully encrypted data. To achieve this, they developed their own AI engine, Boudica, which utilises patented parallel processing and real-time indexing to analyse over 1.5 million homomorphically encrypted log file records (pulling back 200,000 rows) in under 400 milliseconds.
This breakthrough, proven earlier this year in a live demonstration at InfoSecurity Europe, sets a new standard for performance and security in threat detection as the critical log files are constantly encrypted and thus never exposed to anyone (not even the AI model) while still providing intelligence into both active and predicted threats.
This includes analysing query strings for potentially malicious input to identify a SQL injection attack and identifying malware activity through mapping network traffic anomalies and detecting unforecast processes.
OmniIndex’s AI log file threat intelligence tool is built into PostgresBC for all customers and compliments a number of other security features, in addition to encryption, to keep user data safe. This includes immutable decentralised storage to prevent an attacker holding data to ransom and ensure instant data recovery from the point of failure in the event of a fault or breach, and scheduled device-specific privileges to ensure data can only be accessed by those with the correct authorisation and authentication within a designated period of time.
In an era where data is increasingly valuable, complex and vulnerable, OmniIndex stands out by simplifying security and productivity with one simple message: never decrypt.
