About Evalian
Evalian enables organisations to establish resilient cyber security and data protection frameworks, encouraging a culture of security awareness and compliance that aligns seamlessly with their strategic business objectives. Based on risk management and assurance, we help our clients understand their security management and data protection obligations with clear and actionable remediation guidance.
The company was founded in 2018 by Sean Huggett and his wife, as a “spare-room start-up” and aimed to provide real-world, data protection advice for organisations that were being sold services based on fear of massive fines and regulatory penalties.
Having grown rapidly in a short time and employing over 70 highly skilled people, Evalian now specialises in cyber security, data protection, penetration testing and ISO consultancy, providing services for organisations across multiple industries within the private sector.
It hasn’t always been easy. COVID-19 hit during that initial financial year, and, like many, the first three months of lockdown were uncomfortable for us as a business. Enquiries were down around 80%, and people were understandably reluctant to commit.
With concerns growing, we suddenly had a lead through our website that became a tipping point. Fast-forward to this year, we are targeting eight times what we achieved in 2019-20 and pushing for more growth in FY 2024-25.
In a short time, we have established a reputation rooted in trust, a hands-on approach, excellent communications, and transparency. Our consultants receive regular glowing feedback from our clients, underscoring the expertise and warmth of our team.
Every business and organisation are different and whilst our core skills and experience are transferable between industries, our starting point is to always take the time to really understand our clients’ business context in depth.
Our team continues to innovate, developing tools and processes to better help our clients manage their information risk. Alongside Cyber Incident Response, we provide Supply Chain Cyber Security Management, which aims to reduce the burden on internal resources while significantly increasing the visibility of an organisation’s supply chain cyber risk.
We have an exciting time ahead as we are set to launch our new security tools that will be used in-house to help consultants better support and report to our clients.
But whilst we have big plans in terms of revenue and growth, we are not just looking at the numbers. We have greatly matured in the last few years, and we are setting cultural objectives to ensure we retain our employees and onboard new staff in a team environment that makes them feel included and heard.
From a “spare room start-up”, to over a 70-strong team within 6 years, we are proud of what we have achieved. Evalian remains committed to continuing to support organisations in their compliance and security, whilst we build our reputation on pragmatism and trust.
