About Goho
Six years ago, Goho set out on a mission to transform the communications industry, one event at a time. From the very beginning, we knew that our success would not solely be measured by how impressive our events were, but by the positive impact we could make on the environment. Sustainability became the driving force behind every decision we made, ensuring that each event would not only communicate a message effectively but also protect the planet for future generations.
A core pillar of our sustainability strategy is eliminating single-use plastics from our events. We understand the immense environmental cost of plastic waste, which is why we have committed to ensuring that no single-use plastic is used on-site. This involves selecting eco-friendly alternatives for every item, from cups and plates to packaging and décor. By working closely with our suppliers, we ensure that all materials are biodegradable, reusable, or recyclable, significantly reducing our carbon footprint.
In addition to reducing plastic waste, we prioritise locally sourced food, wine, and other products for every event we organise. By supporting local economies, we not only reduce the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation but also promote sustainable agricultural practices. This commitment to sourcing locally not only minimises our carbon emissions but also helps foster relationships within the communities we engage with, encouraging them to embrace more sustainable methods in their own industries.
At Goho, we believe that sustainability is more than just a buzzword; it is a fundamental practice that we embed into every aspect of our business. From the materials used in our events to the energy consumed, we continually strive to reduce our ecological footprint. Our venues are chosen with environmental considerations in mind, opting for spaces with green certifications or that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainable practices. We work with event suppliers who share our values and who provide environmentally responsible options, from energy-efficient lighting and sound systems to recyclable décor.
One of the most unique and impactful elements of our sustainability efforts is the use of seeded paper for name cards. By replacing traditional paper with seeded alternatives, we allow guests to take home a tangible reminder of their experience that can also contribute to reforestation. The paper can be planted, growing into beautiful wildflowers or herbs, creating a lasting connection to nature. This small yet meaningful gesture symbolises our commitment to sustainability in a way that is both practical and memorable for our clients and guests.
Our drive for sustainability extends beyond the events themselves. We actively engage in environmental advocacy, working with local governments, NGOs, and industry peers to promote sustainability across the wider events sector. Through this collaboration, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste, conserving energy, and making environmentally conscious decisions in every aspect of event planning.
Looking ahead, Goho remains dedicated to continuously innovating and improving its sustainability efforts. As the world faces increasing environmental challenges, we are more committed than ever to reducing our impact and leading by example. Through our actions, we hope to inspire others in the communications and events industry to adopt similar practices, ensuring that sustainability becomes the norm, not the exception.
Goho’s vision is clear: to create extraordinary events that leave a positive, lasting impact—not only on our clients and their audiences but also on the planet.
