Parents use baby gear for months, yet it lasts for years – so why buy when you can rent? Merry Go Round Club was founded to give families a smarter, more sustainable way to access baby equipment. By renting instead of buying, parents can save money, reduce clutter, and extend the life of high-quality products that would otherwise sit unused or end up in landfill.
We launched in 2024 after recognising a gap in the market. Parents were spending a fortune on baby gear they only used for a short time. We see that sustainable alternatives are limited, and second-hand marketplaces come with challenges like safety concerns, inconvenience, and uncertainty over product quality. Merry Go Round Club solves these problems by offering a simple, flexible rental service, ensuring that every item is clean, safe, and in excellent condition.
Like any new business, getting the word out is a challenge. Educating parents on the benefits of renting over buying required shifting ingrained habits. We are tackling this through clear messaging, strong branding, and collaborations with trusted parenting advocates.
Another challenge remains sourcing high-quality second-hand stock at scale. We actively source second-hand hand pre-loved baby gear and work with partners to take their open-box returns. Ensuring we can provide a consistent and reliable inventory.
Since launch, we’ve expanded our offerings, introduced curated bundles for convenience, and built partnerships with sustainability-focused brands, parenting experts, and organisations that share our mission. We’re growing steadily and looking to further increase our reach through corporate and hospitality partnerships.
Our impact is clear – by keeping baby equipment in use for longer, we reduce waste, lower demand for new production, and help families make more sustainable choices. Each rented product prevents another from being manufactured unnecessarily, reducing the carbon footprint of baby gear consumption.
