About Nothreat
Nothreat was founded in London in 2023 by a team with backgrounds across the technology industry, from large-scale engineering to AI, who had watched the same problem play out in the systems they built and ran: by the time a patch or a detection rule exists, the attacker has often already been through. The company set out to close that gap with a platform that detects and stops threats before they become incidents, the approach known as preemptive cybersecurity. Its mission is to make advanced cyber defence effortless, so that large organisations do not have to choose between strong security and operational simplicity.
From the beginning the founders placed their bet on two things, deception and threat intelligence: systems inside a network that only an attacker would ever touch, so that every interaction with them is a signal rather than noise, and intelligence built from what those systems see, shared across every customer. The first half of that bet was also the earliest challenge. For many security leaders the word deception still carried the memory of the first generation of products: static honeypots that were easy to spot, tedious to maintain and rarely acted on. Nothreat had to show that its digital twins are a different thing, copies of real services that attackers cannot tell from their neighbours, and that the platform turns what the twins see into automatic prevention without a team of operators behind it. Over three years that scepticism has been shifting, helped by a change in the wider agenda. AI now finds critical flaws in old code in weeks and attacks are beginning to run on their own, and deception has come to be recognised as one of the few mechanisms that does not depend on knowing the attack in advance.
Today the Nothreat Platform is an AI-powered preemptive cybersecurity platform protecting banks, telecoms, critical infrastructure and public sector organisations, combining deception technology and threat intelligence with AI-driven visibility and fully automated response. It is vendor-agnostic and additive by design, working alongside the firewalls, EDR and SIEM a customer already runs. The company reaches its markets through channel partners, including Carahsoft for the US public sector and MUK Group across Central and Eastern Europe, and holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type I. Nothreat is led by CEO and founder Sergej Kostenko together with co-founders spanning product and engineering, operations and government affairs, supported by an advisory board from enterprise security, consulting and research.
Nothreat was among the first companies to automate prevention against unknown and AI-driven threats rather than only known ones, and it is helping to change how security leaders think about the hours between a vulnerability becoming public and the first attacks that use it. The company publishes what its twins record during major incidents, including the limits of what the record shows, because it believes the industry needs more evidence and fewer promises.
