About Secureframe

For many organisations, the hard part of cybersecurity is keeping up. Technology changes, new tools are introduced, and security teams have to make sure their protections keep pace. They need to understand where risks exist, check that safeguards are working and address gaps, often while managing limited staff and competing priorities. Keeping that work moving takes time that could otherwise go toward improving security.

Since its founding in 2020 by Shrav Mehta, Secureframe has been working to make that job easier through automated security workflows, continuous monitoring, and risk management. Thousands of organisations across technology, healthcare, financial services and the Defense Industrial Base use its platform to manage security controls and support frameworks including NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.

The challenge is particularly demanding for defense contractors, which must meet specific federal cybersecurity requirements while managing complex technical environments. Secureframe developed Secureframe Defense to help these organisations prepare for and maintain CMMC readiness, using AI to support security documentation and readiness workflows. Its hosted Model Context Protocol server also connects Secureframe data with AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor. Users can query information and take permitted actions through natural-language requests, with access governed by their existing permissions.

The company has put its own security program through demanding requirements, earning CMMC Level 2 certification in 2025 and FedRAMP 20x Class C certification in 2026. Customer experiences also show how automation can reduce the effort involved in maintaining security programs. A product lifecycle management company supporting a US Air Force project reported saving at least 500 hours over two years while preparing for NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2. A defense technology company whose products are used by the US Navy, Army and National Guard reported saving an estimated 50-70% of the effort involved in compliance implementation and ongoing operations. A cybersecurity services provider reported reducing average audit readiness time by 75%, from roughly a year to three months.

These results illustrate the problem Secureframe is working to solve: making security management easier to sustain as organisations grow and their environments change. Automating repetitive work and bringing security information together can help teams maintain visibility into their controls, identify areas that need attention, and keep track of remediation. This is especially valuable for organisations that cannot simply expand their security teams every time their responsibilities increase.

By helping organisations manage the work behind cybersecurity, Secureframe aims to make it easier to maintain security programs over time and keep attention on protecting systems, sensitive information, and the people who depend on them.
