About Revelion

Revelion was founded by Mitchell Spicer, Co-Founder and COO, Cory Hobrough, Co-Founder and CTO, and Daniel McPherson, Co-Founder and Chairman, to address one of the biggest challenges in modern cybersecurity: the growing gap between how quickly threats evolve and how often organisations test their security.

Mitchell previously built his own managed security service provider, where he saw first-hand the limitations of traditional penetration testing. Assessments could be costly, slow and reliant on specialist teams, making it difficult for organisations to test their security frequently. As systems change, new services are deployed and configurations are updated, weaknesses can emerge between assessments and remain undetected until the next test.

Recognising that AI was changing the economics of cybersecurity, the founders set out to make penetration testing more accessible, scalable and frequent. AI is reducing the time, effort and cost required for attackers to identify potential vulnerabilities, allowing companies to protect themselves by searching for weaknesses more continuously and across more targets. Many organisations still rely on periodic testing, often leaving long gaps between assessments. Revelion was built to help close this gap.

Revelion is an autonomous AI penetration testing platform designed to identify and prove what is exploitable, rather than simply report theoretical vulnerabilities. It tests authorised targets, validates findings through exploitation and provides evidence of the steps that led to each finding. This gives security teams a clearer understanding of which weaknesses pose a real risk and where remediation should be prioritised.

The platform can run on demand or on a recurring schedule, allowing organisations to test as often as their environments change. This helps move security testing away from a once-a-year exercise towards a more regular process of identifying weaknesses, fixing them and verifying that the fixes work. Revelion complements traditional penetration testing and red teaming by providing additional visibility between established assessments, rather than replacing them.

The company is working to make autonomous penetration testing available to a wider range of organisations, including enterprise security teams and managed service providers. For MSPs and MSSPs, its white-labelled platform offers a way to deliver recurring security testing to clients at scale, while its credit-based pricing model helps make costs more predictable.

Revelion is contributing to a broader shift in the cybersecurity industry: moving from identifying vulnerabilities to demonstrating which weaknesses can be exploited, and from periodic assessments towards more frequent testing. As AI continues to lower the cost of finding security weaknesses, the challenge for defenders is no longer just whether their systems have been tested, but how recently they were tested, what was discovered and whether those weaknesses have been fixed.
