About Teleport
Founded in 2015, Teleport is the Infrastructure Identity Company, modernising identity, access, and policy for infrastructure, accelerating engineering velocity, and improving infrastructure resiliency to human factors and compromise.
Teleport was born from a simple but powerful realisation by CEO and co-founder Ev Kontsevoy: the traditional way organisations manage and secure access is fundamentally broken. He co-founded Teleport intending to replace fragmented, secrets-based systems with a unified, scalable, and inherently more secure approach called Infrastructure Identity.
With attackers now targeting identity as the primary entry point, traditional IAM and PAM models leave organisations increasingly vulnerable as they scale. Teleport’s infrastructure identity approach unifies every identity type in a single security layer that removes secrets and grounds identity in physical world attributes. Teleport Machine & Workload Identity extends this unified framework to cover machines, workloads, microservices, and agentic AI. With Teleport’s solution, rules such as short-lived privileges and dynamic access controls can be uniformly applied to all identities. For example, a developer can be granted access to a specific server only during code deployment, within a 30-minute window, from an authorised location, and during work hours.
This eliminates the need for standing credentials. By granting access only when needed, Teleport’s innovations remove the most exploited attack vector. Even if a hacker breaches an identity, they cannot pivot laterally or cause critical damage.
Teleport has further advanced its platform recently with Identity Security. For the first time, security teams can see in real-time how every identity moves through a system, from authentication to privilege use to infrastructure actions. Previously, security teams had to manually pull log data to trace a user’s journey. This process is time-consuming, and on average it can take security teams up to 11 hours to investigate a single cyber incident. With Teleport, this journey can be traced in minutes, enabling teams to detect and stop suspicious behaviour before it escalates.
On top of this, Teleport is addressing one of cybersecurity’s biggest issues: the safe and secure implementation of AI technologies. As enterprises and governments race to harness the efficiency gains promised by AI, adoption is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. Research from the Enterprise Security Group shows that nearly half of enterprises (44%) have already deployed AI.
Teleport’s approach to securing AI by treating all identities the same offers a blueprint for securing any emerging technology. Traditionally, each new technology introduced into an enterprise has required a separate security solution to manage its unique identities. We are at a turning point: identity management must be redesigned to scale seamlessly with modern enterprise infrastructure, providing consistent, real-time protection across humans, machines, and AI agents alike.
Beyond improved security, Teleport’s approach to provisioning access simplifies operations. By consolidating connectivity, authentication, and access control into one platform, it reduces tool sprawl, lowers human error, and frees engineers to focus on innovation rather than administration.
Today, more than 500 organisations, including Mastercard, Nasdaq, Coreweave, IBM, and DoorDash, and the leading organisations in AI and financial services, rely on Teleport to secure their infrastructure access.
