A Chat with Nick Braund, Founder at PR Agency: Words + Pixels

Words + Pixels is a specialist PR agency that was founded in 2020. We provide a different solution to the typical agency model which has often failed high growth businesses. We give brands the platform to disrupt their industry through targeted, measurable results. Our values are centred around being disruptive, personal, supportive and passionate.

We work with startups and scaleups at the initial part of their journey to late-stage series round businesses, such as Red Bull, refurbished tech unicorn Back Market, circular economy baby product company Kindora, satellite kitchen network Growth Kitchen, and more.

Our team is made up of communications professionals with a wealth of experience across in-house, global agencies and even parliament. This allows us the ability to provide absolutely essential skills and experience to our clients when they need it most.

How did you come up with the idea for the company?

In my previous role I worked with so many incredible growth companies and realised that I wanted to focus on helping innovative newer businesses succeed by providing a platform to showcase their vision and mission. Many of these companies don’t have the infrastructure nor budgets of their larger contemporaries and have therefore been locked out of securing the most impactful PR.

Words + Pixels was created to bridge this gap and give support where it’s needed most, working directly with founders and c-suite to help them achieve their business goals.

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?

Since launching, Words + Pixels has experienced rapid growth alongside some of our clients as both work in harmony. The agency itself has grown from just one person, myself as founder, to almost 20 staff with experience in B2B and consumer PR from in-house to global agencies.

We work closely with our clients, becoming a part of their team, providing advice beyond our PR as a true partner. This has led to over 25% of our clients having been on board since we launched over two years ago.

What can we hope to see from Words + Pixels in the future?

It’s been an incredible journey since I founded Words + Pixels seeing the agency grow from strength to strength. Over the next few years we want to continue offering a platform for the world’s most potentially impactful businesses, telling the stories that need to be heard to make a difference.

We’re also looking to continue our expansion internationally – Words + Pixels already has a dozen partners in the UK and globally, from Europe to the US, to support our clients as they grow across borders.
