What Do You Find Most Exciting About MetaMinds?
MetaMinds is building the new online commerce, not only by redefining the e-commerce experience which today is nothing more than an interactive product catalog, and offers very little differentiation on the shopping experience across segments & categories. MetaMinds also provides a platform for the experience after purchase, a platform enabling brands to extend the relationship with the customer beyond space and time, generating long term engagement through regular touch points before, during & after sales, and providing an enhanced experience focused on human connections, that feels organic & natural.
What do you see your role being in the evolution of MetaMinds?
MetaMinds and I we have met at the right moment, where its foundational technology is now ready and I bring industry insights, expertise and know-how around how to apply emerging technologies to the luxury AND retail business.
For the past decade, I’ve been working for one of the world’s leading luxury groups focusing on technology innovation. During this time, I’ve worked with multiple brands across different product categories, being exposed to their unique approaches and business needs and exploring solutions to them through the application of emerging technologies. This has enriched my perspective around how digital technologies can bring the brand forward and upwards.
MetaMinds technology is the first one that is up to the quality standards the luxury industry is looking for, delivering high-fidelity and performance. My role is aligning MetaMinds products with the current & future needs of the brands and their clients.
How Do You Expect To Manage the Transition From Technology Innovation Leader To CPO?
I’ve been an entrepreneur before moving to the corporate world, which has probably shaped my evolution inside the Richemont Group. When the time came with the Blockchain initiative back in 2018, I was already deep into the web3 ecosystem. They gave me the opportunity to explore and innovate, which allowed me to drive and build the strategy, collaborating closely with the brands, listening to their needs and translating them into innovation projects that have evolved to become operational products, such as the Digital Product Passport.
For this reason, I see many similarities between both roles. There are also some differences, the first of them being the size. At MetaMinds I’m joining a dynamic & agile team where I must adapt to a faster pace and a leaner organization. I have a clear vision about how emerging technologies work on the luxury and retail industry, acquires through years of experience. As MetaMinds’ new CPO I’m very excited about having the opportunity to bring together both visions.
What Role Will Your Experience As A Tech Innovation Leader Play In Your New Role?
My new role is still about innovation. As an innovation leader I was focused on finding value on emerging technologies, and I was able to do that by looking at the technology from a human perspective. This understanding of web3 from a pragmatic perspective, as opposed to something intangible, helped in the process of building something lasting and useful, as any technology should be.
I also saw my role as very transversal, so I focused on collaborating with the different stakeholders in the brands and the different functions. We were all part of a transversal team, and the results speak by themselves. We pioneered blockchain & web3 development in the luxury & retail industry, with very tangible enterprise use cases that today have become part of Richemont’s operational tech landscape.
In my new role I must bring the technology forward through the product, by defining a vision & strategy and aligning the team around it, by understanding the current needs of the market and anticipating the future ones, as I already did before, and by collaborating with brands to deliver meaningful experiences.
In the team we share the vision about a human-centred product, the result of combining different technologies with a clear purpose. In the past this has helped me to achieve tangible results, and I believe it will serve me well in my new role with MetaMinds.
Tell Us About the Two Platforms MetaMinds Is Launching in 2025
Mersive and Versai. They are actually two sides of the same coin, one focused on the underlying tech, while the other brings it all together in a compelling experience for brands & their customers
Mersive is an all-in-one turnkey solution for immersive commerce and spatialweb experiences that includes a set of modular components, such as an avatar generator, a 3D marketplace, Ai powered intelligence systems such as LLM trained virtual assistants and personalisation, a set of backend enterprise integrations and connectors for e-commerce and clienteling, token engine or AR/VR seamless integrations. This platform is the foundation to build open worlds and immersive experiences. High-fidelity and performance are the two key features of Mersive’s experience, fully web-based.
Versai is our open-world environment built on top of Mersive, focused on enabling the next generation of online commerce through integrated brand immersive spaces that bridges the physical with the digital, enabling brands to extend their experience beyond space & time.
Versai is organised in districts, allowing brands and creators to have their digital storefronts in a common space taking advantage of the synergies created through a shared ecosystem, same as in the physical world. For example, a brand can build a digital boutique within Versai to showcase and sell their products in a more compelling, immersive and organic way, or setup exclusive activations through token-gated VIP spaces.
Versai offers unparalled interoperability, allowing brands to bring their own assets, and clients to use them in other platforms. And for those who are wondering, WE DON’T SELL LAND. Brands can easily activate their virtual spaces at an affordable, flexible monthly fee.
