The Bot Platform is a low-code automation platform empowering companies around the world to build a better employee experience. We’re a Microsoft Teams and Workplace from Meta premier technology partner, We are an EE Awards’ Employee Engagement Vendor of the Year and have recently been chosen as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Startups In The UK by the Mayor Of London. We are also members of the Department for International Trade’s UK Start Up program.
Our customers include global organisations in the technology, retail, hospitality, finance, pharmaceutical, entertainment and manufacturing industries – many of which are Fortune 100 companies. Using The Bot Platform they are easily able to build their own work applications or digital assistants, digitise processes, integrate systems and automate workflows.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
We originally worked with all sorts of musicians creating standout digital marketing campaigns for artists including Kylie, One Direction, Tinie Tempah, The Rolling Stones and Calvin Harris to name a few. From here we then started getting approached by brands and entities such as Samsung, Greenpeace and Continental Tires.
We then launched the first Messenger bot for the music industry which became the inspiration for The Bot Platform. After a year or so of B2C projects, we then pivoted our offering to focus on how bots, conversational applications and workflow automation could help companies engage with their staff and stakeholders rather than customers and fans.
If you went back in time and told us in 2013 that a few years later we’d be working with HR, Internal Comms and Employee Experience teams at companies like Booking.com, WW (Weight Watchers), Facebook and Clarins I’d have been pretty confused as to how we’d get there! But actually, we find this area so much more rewarding and continuously hearing stories from our customers about how we’re helping them improve their employee experience, especially after such an intense 18 month period during a pandemic, continues to confirm that we made the right decision.

How has the company evolved during the pandemic?
Our tools are used to provide a myriad of different business and employee solutions that have arisen directly because of the pandemic. One example would be one of our customers Globe Telecom who are one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Asia Pacific.
When the pandemic hit they needed a way of effectively communicating with their 8000+ frontline staff so that they could help to stay safe and be informed. Within days they had built a digital assistant, aptly named DUDE (Digital Usher for Disasters and Emergencies) that handled contact tracing, important alerts, emergency resources and staff pulse surveys.
What can we hope to see from The Bot Platform in the future?
We will continue to provide innovative tools to improve the employee experience. We are passionate about employee mental health and wellness and to support this, we recently released a completely free Wellness Assistant available to any and every company that is interested in supporting their employees’ mental wellness.
The assistant promotes activities that improve mental and physical health while allowing staff to set, track and complete wellness goals for the year ahead.
We will be releasing more of these kinds of assistants in the near future and we have also just released a free Training Assistant for Microsoft Teams that covers everything you need to know to get your team set up and working on Microsoft Teams.
