How did you come up with the idea for the company?
Over a decade ago, my co-founder Assaf Glazer had his first baby and wanted to learn more about what happens all those hours he wasn’t watching him in the crib. Assaf and I had worked together previously, and as a parent of two toddlers with a third on the way, I was no stranger to sleepless nights.
We leaned on our backgrounds in technology to explore how AI and computer vision could help parents better understand their baby’s sleep. Assaf and I realised that by applying computational models, we could provide real-time, personalised guidance to parents—helping them make informed decisions and feel more in control. What makes Nanit unique is its ability to go beyond monitoring; we offer proactive, data-driven insights that enhance the parenting experience rather than replace intuition.

What is your advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Start with a real problem. The best ideas come from personal experience and deep consumer insight. Listen to your audience, iterate constantly, and build technology that enhances human experiences rather than replaces them.
And most importantly, assemble a team that shares your vision—entrepreneurship is a long journey, and having the right people around you make all the difference. Hard times will come, so choose one or two principles to stay loyal to. For us, those principles were to not market based on fear, and to use Nanit as a tool that provides information for parents to make their own decisions, rather than replacing their judgment.
What most excites you about Nanit?
The impact. Every day, we hear from parents who tell us how Nanit has changed their lives – helping them get more sleep, easing their anxieties, and even celebrating developmental milestones. AI has incredible potential to lighten the mental load of parenting, making the experience more joyful and less stressful. The fact that we’re making a real difference for families while also leveraging AI-driven insights is truly powerful.
How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
Nanit has grown from a smart baby monitor to a comprehensive parenting support system. We’ve introduced new AI-powered features that provide deeper insights into sleep, development, and care routines. We’ve also placed a strong emphasis on privacy and personalisation, ensuring that our technology remains a trusted resource for families. Beyond sleep, we’re expanding into areas like milestone tracking and behavioral insights, making Nanit an even more indispensable parenting tool.
What can we hope to see from Nanit in the future?
We’re just scratching the surface. Imagine AI that goes beyond sleep to support child development holistically—helping parents identify early signs of developmental progress, streamlining family routines, and even fostering better communication between caregivers. The future of AI in parenting is about creating smarter, more intuitive tools that make raising kids easier, and Nanit is at the forefront of that movement. Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but with AI as a trusted guide, we’re getting closer to creating one that’s personalised for every family
