Interview with Yannis Niebelschütz, MD at Digital Coaching Company: CoachHub

CoachHub is a leading global digital coaching platform for personalised, measurable and scalable coaching programs. Businesses of all sizes use CoachHub’s platform to benefit from improved employee engagement, higher productivity and employee retention. The global CoachHub pool consists of 1000+ certified business coaches in 60 countries on six continents.

Companies can invite employees to join the digital coaching platform, where an AI-based matching system recommends three business coaches who meet the individual requirements of the employee. Coach and coachee communicate directly via the CoachHub app on smartphone or desktop. Coaching typically takes place via bi-weekly video calls, and e-learning assignments are available for personal development.

Employees have round-the-clock access to their coach via an integrated chat function. Coaches cover a range of disciplines, including time and stress management, resilience and leadership skills while remote working.

How did you come up with the idea for the company?

Matti and I have both always been huge fans of coaching and the impact that it can have on an individual. I had a coach myself for many years, so know from personal experience how transformational that relationship can be. However, my experience with coaching was always old-school – I was working for a large US tech company at the time. Being reliant on face-to-face meetings always added an extra layer of stress and hassle to my coaching experience – one of us would always be travelling, or she’d turn up late or the meeting room would be booked, and it made me realise that there must be a better way!

By taking the coaching experience onto a digital platform, we’re able to democratise this process to employees and businesses for whom traditional coaching is not an option. It also allows us to scale it globally, across continents, time zones and different languages.

What advice would you give to other aspiring entrepreneurs?

The simple advice is always the best. Pick a large problem in a large market that needs solving, work really hard and don’t give up easily!

What can we hope to see from CoachHub in the future?

At the moment, we’re rapidly growing our global presence, entering new markets and reaching new people. We want to fundamentally change how companies support and develop their people, both personally and professionally. So far, like traditional coaching, we have focused largely on helping to transform how managers lead. But we’re just getting started and we believe that coaching can have a positive transformative impact on anyone and everyone.
