Meet Jason Foster, Founder and CEO at Data and Analytics Strategy Consultancy: Cynozure

Cynozure is a data and analytics strategy consultancy that is on a mission to change the way business is done through the positive use of data. We are establishing a new industry standard for data strategy in a tech-first world; one that prioritises people and business outcomes, and builds a data strategy to support their unique needs.

How did you come up with the idea for the company? What makes this company unique?

Not everyone is lucky enough to build the company they dream of, but that’s what I set out to do. With experience in industry working on defining and delivering data strategies, I found at the time that there wasn’t really an organisation that existed that specialised in enterprise data and analytics strategy that I could learn from.

One I could get advice from, bounce ideas around with and one that would hold my hand and help me and my team be successful. These are the roots of Cynozure – an organisation that has practical, real experience in shaping an organisation to get value from data.

In a digital-first world, Cynozure breaks the mould. Instead of ‘tech for tech’s sake’, we take time to understand the challenges our customers are facing and the business outcomes they’re trying to achieve, and then design and build a data strategy that is closely tailored to their team and business goals.


How has Cynozure evolved over the last couple of years?

Covid was like an incubator for digital transformation, pushing many business leaders to rethink their use of technology and data. Throughout the pandemic, Cynozure was the trusted partner of many organisations, advising them on how they could use their data to weather the socio-economic crisis that was Covid.

Throughout this period, we grew our presence and influence in multiple sectors, including financial services, retail and hospitality. This was key to the business growing by 90% in the latest financial year.

What can we hope to see from Cynozure in the future?

As the world rebuilds from the pandemic we have a unique opportunity to harness the power of data to supercharge business and economic growth, build more sustainable business models and create more employment opportunities.

We aim to be the organisation leading the charge on this. Our focus is to support businesses across a range of sectors to use their data in a positive way that not only helps them to become more productive, inclusive and socially responsible, but contributes to a better future for all.

In terms of specific goals for 2022, we will continue to grow our international presence, develop our proposition to reach more people and make data even more accessible, grow our team by 50%, continue to serve and guide our customers, launch our flagship event for business and data leaders, Cynozure+, and grow our IMPACT initiative to drive real change in the charity sector.
