Tell us about Klarytee
Klarytee is a SaaS platform that enables organisations to embrace technologies like AI, SaaS and cloud without worrying about the security of their most sensitive data. We do this by building encryption and access control into the most sensitive fragments of data to ensure it stays protected wherever it goes. This means that even if a document or an email is compromised, the most sensitive parts of it, like customer names or pricing information, can still remain protected even after it is no longer in the organisation’s control.
How did you come up with the idea for Klarytee?
Having worked in the security industry for over 12 years, working with government, enterprise and academia, I was frequently frustrated at how security was seen as a barrier to productivity. I wanted to address this by building a new way of doing security that doesn’t get in the way of business. My ambition is to one day enable organisations to share data with their employees, suppliers and customers over any channel, platform or media without security being a concern so that productivity, efficiency and delivering incredible customer and employee experiences can be the sole focus of the enterprise.

How has Klarytee evolved over the last couple of years?
From our inception we have been focussed on developing data centric security for SaaS and cloud environments where the enterprise no longer controls the infrastructure handling their data. The rapid adoption of generative AI is an incredible opportunity for us and we are now working with our customers and design partners to enable safe and secure use of this technology in environments where they could not be deployed because of security and compliance issues.
What can we hope to see from Klarytee in the future?
We continue to develop tools and integrations into the most commonly used platforms like Microsoft Word, to enable our customers to protect their data at the source and from the moment it’s created. We are now increasingly focussing on how we can simplify these workflows even further to reduce the burden on the user by automatically detecting sensitive data and protecting it based on pre-defined policies and the context behind the data. In an AI enabled enterprise, we will be the data security assistant to ensure sensitive data is never again accidentally exposed to the wrong user at the wrong time.
