HTP Consultancy is a boutique consulting firm specialising in Information Security, Data Privacy and Compliance Risk Advisory Services. Our company uses ‘Ethical Hackers’ that mimic cyber attacks, which minimise vulnerabilities in the security of your website. Providing GDPR and Privacy we guide the process with policy templates and controls so you can focus on other parts of your organisation. By minimising legal liability and risk, we tailor a risk plan customised to you that includes policies, diligence and more, so liabilities become less of a worry.
Starting a company in the pandemic may seem bold, but there has been an increased requirement for services like ours over the past few months.
As the lead consultant, I am able to use the connections I have built over the past 20 years to make sure we have the best possible team for each client we are working with.
What I shall be bringing to HTP is the outcome of working with a diverse spectrum of clients; including – FTSE 250, SME and start-ups; in a range of verticals including technologies & applications, Pharmaceutical, Aviation, Media, Hedge-funds, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing.
Protecting company assets, IP’s and reputation should be along the same principles as protecting an individual from Covid19. Following a simple set of rules for general ‘hygiene’ can protect an organisation from Viruses, Phishing, threat-actors and so on.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
There is lots of noise in the cybersecurity industry, with so many solutions, vendors and providers offering various solutions and scaremongering people.
Having worked in the industry for 20 plus years, I have witnessed first-hand many of these complex issues. As a result of my experiences, I realised that there was an urgent need to simplify Cyber and Risk solutions. This needed to be done by breaking them into layers to fit the agile cloud-based Technology start-up sector and in turn educate them.
It is paramount to incorporate security at the start of the application process; Facebook, Twitter and Google are some of the few companies that embrace security from the start. This approach shall help the start-ups to scale up quickly whilst promising security and dependability. The last thing that the start-ups need is ransomware or fines to cripple their business.

How has the company evolved during the pandemic?
The shift to remote work as a repercussion of the pandemic, and the acceleration of cloud-based infrastructure have profoundly impacted companies. Covid19 has increased Cybercrime by 600%. Henceforth, creating an environment of online unrest.
I started HTP Consulting during the pandemic, so it has been an extremely busy 15 months advising organisations handling incidence responses, security tests and risk assessments.
The pandemic has altered a lot of our realities and so it is important that we adapt to it.
What can we hope to see from HTP Consultancy in the future?
Organisations have some work to do to improve their security posture and educate the internal staff. This is an issue that I want to focus on in the future.
My plan is to help app/software startups to find the right solutions for them and create a bigger presence in the USA by expanding from LA.
