Meet Jeff Warren, Chief Technology Officer at Netwrix

Tell us about Netwrix.

As our tagline says, Netwrix is a software vendor that makes data security easy, and this description is as accurate as it could be. Cybersecurity is difficult for small organisations because they lack staff and expertise, while larger enterprises struggle due to the complexity and scale of the IT infrastructure they manage. Netwrix serves them all, regardless of size, by providing software that is both effective and easy to use. This is what we do — simplify the life of security professionals and help organisations become more secure tomorrow than they are today.

Netwrix empowers more than 13,500 organisations globally to identify and protect sensitive data to reduce the risk of a breach. Our solutions also limit the impact of attacks by helping IT teams detect, respond to, and recover from them faster and with less effort.

What do you think makes this company unique?

As a software company, Netwrix cannot build our success on creating some patented material or building the fastest machines. I am proud to say that our team is our greatest asset. We hire smart people, arm them with information that’s as accurate as possible, and let them make data-driven decisions. As a global company, we tailor our offerings based on the feedback we receive from our local peers in different countries.

We also benefit from the different cultural backgrounds of our teams. In fact, we take advantage of their time zone differences. For example, the largest development teams at Netwrix are located in the US, the UK and EU — which means that our R&D department is working almost around the clock!

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?

Within the last two years, our portfolio has grown from two products aimed at data access governance (DAG) into sixteen solutions that cover DAG, identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), Active Directory security, and ransomware protection. In 2022 alone, we made four strategic acquisitions to strengthen our IAM offering.

In addition, this year we launched a new SaaS auditing solution tailored specifically to the needs of managed service providers (MSP). It accelerates incident detection and response across Active Directory, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and File Systems of each client that an MSP supports.

What can we hope to see from Netwrix in the future?

In March 2024, we held our first offline exclusive user and partner conference, Netwrix Connect, which took place in sunny Orlando, Florida. The goal was to provide deep technical training and establish closer connections with those who deal with our solutions daily. This was not a selling event; rather, Netwrix Connect was focused on training, education, and feedback.

It was a huge success: 97% of the visitors said they would love to attend Netwrix Connect in the future. We are eager to meet these expectations, keep leveraging in-person communication with our partners and customers, and share our expertise at future Netwrix Connect conferences.
