BetaDen starts its second-ever Cohort

Worcestershire, September 11th 2019BetaDen, Worcestershire’s dynamic commercial tech accelerator, has now started its second Cohort programme, which is dedicated to entrepreneurs and technology businesses in developing new concepts in emerging technology. 

The nine-month accelerator sees eight companies from a range of technologies and sectors begin life as a Cohort member in BetaDen’s Malvern Hills Science Park HQ. The tech accelerator will offer Cohort members intensive support and guidance, to help design and build their commercial ideas, position them for investment or prepare for market launch. 

The new Cohort members include:

  • Voice Biometrics – identity authentication as a service
  • Impact Aerial – a drone services solution provider
  • Hero Skin – next-generation protective body armour for extreme contact sports
  • CYDON – a decentralised data management platform for secure data storage 
  • Data Legacy – online data platform developed to protect your data legacy after life 
  • Green Gorilla Apps – a sporting sector online based platform
  • Utelize – IT based platform for private telecoms
  • Wearable Link – wearable technology incorporating AI

The unique package offered to Cohort 2.0 members includes having their own office space at the BetaDen hub, investment coaching, marketing funding, business mentors for techpreneurs, commercial meetings offering genuine routes to market, and proof of concept grant funding*.

BetaDen’s launch, funded by the Worcestershire LEP with support from leading local technology businesses, runs parallel to the development of the 5G industry 4.0 Testbed following the Government’s £4.8 million project funding awarded to Worcestershire in 2018.
