Bulb today launches its Smart Pay as You Go (PAYG) offering for prepayment customers in the UK.
The product will be the only Smart PAYG offering supplied by a large energy company in the UK with 100% renewable electricity and 100% carbon neutral gas.
Smart PAYG will enable customers to manage their energy anywhere and at any time through the Bulb App.
Bulb, the UK’s biggest green energy company, today announces the launch of its Smart Pay As You Go (PAYG) offering. This new product will allow Bulb’s prepayment members increased flexibility to top up on the go, as well as helpful insights on energy usage and efficiency. After its successful beta trial, the offering is available to new and current members with a compatible smart meter from today.
Bulb’s Smart Pay As You Go offer is flexible, accessible and affordable, giving people renewable energy at a fair price. For Pay As You Go members, Bulb prices are £60 below the ’Prepayment’ price cap set by Ofgem. You can top up directly through the Bulb app from anywhere at any time and stay in control of your energy whilst looking out for the planet.
With this new, easy-to-use product, Bulb will become the only large energy company in the UK to offer Smart PAYG with 100% renewable electricity and 100% carbon neutral gas. Bulb’s app is rated the best energy app for Apple and Android. Every member will receive a card too, so they can top up at any of the 28,000 PayPoint stores across the UK, if they prefer.
Bulb Smart PAYG members will be able to use the app to:
- Top up their meter, eliminating the need to visit shops
- Monitor their account balance, and how long they have left until they need to top up
- Access their payment statements
In future, they’ll also be able to:
- See charts on energy usage over time
- Receive advice from Bulb on how to reduce usage and lower bills
- Set up automatic top-up payments
Bulb’s Smart PAYG plan acts as a solution for traditional Pay As You Go members who can now top up at home rather than having to go to shops or other locations, which has become even more important an option since the coronavirus pandemic began. The new product will provide Bulb’s customers, including vulnerable members, with a flexible and easy way of managing their energy usage.
Following a beta trial of the service over the past few months, we’re now rolling the product out to our members across the country. Members looking to switch to Bulb Smart PAYG from other suppliers will be able to switch as long as their meter is compatible.
