A campaign to identify Britain’s 100 most inspiring and multi-achieving female entrepreneurs has officially kicked off, with dynamic businesswomen across the country encouraged to apply to join the ranks of the f:Entrepreneur #ialso 100.

The f:Entrepreneur campaign celebrates the inspirational women running their own businesses in the UK. Through events, content and storytelling f:Entrepreneur showcases role models to help and support all small businesses.

Each year a collection of 100 impressive female business owners are spotlighted as part of the #ialso campaign, which recognises the phenomenal contribution of female entrepreneurs who support their peers and communities through their businesses and wider activities.

Reflecting the rich and varied portfolio careers that many female entrepreneurs have today – which often include voluntary, mentoring and community responsibilities, alongside thriving small businesses and side hustles – the #ialso 100 celebrates these impressive, multi-achieving careers.

Minoti Parikh, Founder of TPL Experiences in Yorkshire talks about the benefits of being involved in the campaign:

“I have been fortunate to be a part of the amazing FE community. Besides the recognition and achievement of making it to the #ialso list, for me it has been a safe space where everyone is genuinely so supportive of each other. I often struggled to fit myself into any specific award category but now I am proud to say that my category is that I am an #ialso. And I am sure this thought resonates with thousands of women across the country, thus making campaigns like #ialso so significant and path breaking.”

Now in its third year, f:Entrepreneur was launched in 2017 by Michelle Ovens MBE, who is also the founder of Small Business Britain, the Director of Small Business Saturday UK and Chair of the Small Business Charter.

Michelle Ovens MBE, Founder of Small Business Britain said:

“f:Entrepreneur was started to give more recognition to the phenomenal women who run businesses in the UK. This year, after a tough time for many, we need to celebrate our power women more than ever! Female entrepreneurs have shouldered huge burdens during the pandemic, often juggling a range of responsibilities past their day job. This reflects the growing, wider trend for women to embrace a flexible, multi-portfolio career. We are excited to celebrate the achievements of these amazing women and I’d encourage all female entrepreneurs to apply.”

Sarah Young, VP of Member Engagement at Tide, which sponsors the f:entrepreneur campaign, said:

“Tide is dedicated to championing small businesses and as part of this mission we have committed to supporting 100,000 women starting out in business by the end of 2023. We are pleased to say that we are on track to meet that target and are proud to support important campaigns such as f:Entrepreneur as part of our commitment.

“Research tells us that role models are hugely powerful in empowering women to start and grow their own businesses, meaning it’s incredibly important that the stories of the inspirational women running brilliant businesses are told and shared. We are excited to see the women in this years’ f:Entrepreneur #ialso 100 and reading their stories.”
